How to design cars or helmets efficient?

ML2166 already listed a couple of links in order to get high quality logos.

However, Wikipedia is a quite source for logos as well.

For example:

1. Go to the page of the company, you're searching for; for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz
2. Click on the logo of the the company (top right box)
3. A new page will appear; here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mercedes-Benz_logo.svg
4. Right mouseclick on 2000px (a higher px-value is better) and choose "Save as..."
5. Rename "2000px-Mercedes-Benz_logo.svg" into "2000px-Mercedes-Benz_logo.png"

That's it! The best thing about those Wikipedia-logos: The background is transparent so it's easy to place those logos on your texture.

The reason I use the vector logo sites is that they tend to come in eps format. I can resize this format to any size I wish without loss of quality. Hence why I do not tend to pick set sizes from wiki.

Hi,

I have just started to learn car skin editing, since I really want to contribute to this forum instead of taking all the time.

I'm having trouble straight away however. I need to use Gimp to open and edit the extracted files, but I cant open the dds file. I have tried to install the dds plug in from the Gimp downloads site, but still no luck. I get an error simply stating dds plug in could not open image.

I need to get past this hurdle and then I can continue to follow the video tutorial. Please help!?

Thanks
