How do you watch race events?

Do you prefer watch live on the spot? Why?
Do you prefer to watch them with dynamic views of the race (T.V)? Why?

Personally I enjoy live racing mostly because you get the most immersible experience possible, but the only problem is that watching the race from one spot for the whole time gets pretty insane.

A big screen at the event is the best of both worlds and my preferred option, if there is no big screen where possible I will record the event to watch properly when I get back from the live event :)

No TV captures the brutal sounds of live motorsports so I still prefer the real thing over any TV broadcast.

Real thing definetely. As a photographer I have been at the german GT Masters twice (Nurburgring and Hockenheimring) and was taking photos in the pitlane while the race was on. That was a nice experience. One photo of it was this...crazy thing, when they pass you that near on the pitstraight. :D
