WIP High Speed Ring

Discussion in 'Bob's Track Builder Projects' started by Eric Tozer, Aug 22, 2009.

  1. Here's a video of my track - High Speed Ring.

    Based on the track from the Gran Turismo series.

    Most of the objects are in but still plenty of work to do.

    Some download links for you. :cool:

    Awesome Eric! Finally a track where my Penske CART can really stretch it legs :D

    @music: :lol:
  3. You'd be forgiven for thinking that was GT4. :thumb:

    Ah, memories.... :rhyswantsanostalgiasmiley: We need more GT tracks in these games. :)
  4. A few screens of my progress.
    This thing is nearly finished.:bulgy-eyes::bulgy-eyes:

  5. Here's my latest video.
    Hopefully I will release this track next weekend.
    Just have a few minor things I want to check over first.
  6. looks really cool. do you modeled all the stuff? where do you get those fences from? maybe you can share them.

  7. I like how the track has come along!

    With a name like "High Speed Ring", have you considered using a few more trackside cameras to illustrate the high speeds attained?
  8. I'm always happy to share all my objects & textures.
    I will probably compile them into an xpack once it's all done.

    As for the camera's, I'm no film director.:)
    I was just trying to make sure the car was visible from each camera.
    I hate it when I download a track & have a good crash but can't see it because something is blocking the camera.
    I'm not sure how having more camera's would help to show the high speed nature of the track?
    Can you elaborate?
    Maybe I should use faster cars instead?

  9. Could you match the camera positions to be the same as in Gran Turismo?
  10. I tried at first but they have so many cameras and each time the car comes around they use a different camera.
    So one part of the track may have 3 different cameras from different angles.
    I don't think rfactor can do this?
  11. I like your cams btw =)
  12. Awesome stuff, Eric. :thumb:

    Going to give it a spin now...
  13. I suppose what he means is that if you put cameras right next to the track and at ground level you see the cars flashing by, unlike if you have them a few feet above the ground, where they flash by, but not so impressively. :D

    And thanks for the offer to release the objects in an Xpack, although I know some of them are already out!
