Luc - you, and any of the other occasionals that we sometimes get due to schedules being freed up, are always welcome to drop in and race if you're available.
Please don't wait for a response from me in the thread, just jump in, say hello, and drive. :good:
Cheers Stuart, that's exactly what I did!
I had fun last night. I picked the Vette for the first race. My opinion is that it's very fast in a straight line and great fun to drift out of corners but has poor brakes and feels heavy. It would probably be very fast at Monza but not nimble enough for twisty tracks. A good laugh though.
Other than that, the race itself was fun even though I had several spins - definitely not an easy car to drive fast. Amir seemed to have the same problems, albeit to a lesser extent as he was a bit faster and passed me a couple of times. I chased him until his engine died. I finished 2nd or 3rd (mainly due to lots of DNFs), can't remember for sure and too lazy to watch the replay!
I had the Capri in the second race. It felt a lot more like a conventional race car, but I struggled to find the limits and when I did, I went off. It seems to be a very on/off car, if you see what I mean. I think with more training, it could be very fast though. It seemed a tad quicker than the CSLs.
I had a poor start there, had a few nice fights but went off track too often (was starting to feel tired too). I thought I would finish 3rd but went off again in the final lap and ended up in 5th place.
Thanks for organising and see you next time!
PS : Stuart, I have to say I really enjoy these GTL evenings. Thank you for the effort you put into keeping this game alive - it seems to be the most active game in RD right now, not bad for a 4 year-old sim!
