GP500 speed up issue

I appreciate that this is a very old game but the truth of the matter is that I cannot find any documentation on this game!

I've managed to get the game running almost perfectly under Win10 but every so often the game will just speed up what seems like x1000 for a second and it ruins the lap, pretty much makes the game unplayable.

I've tried reinstalling the game, using a different patched exe, different resolution, different compatibility modes and nothing seems to help.

Like I said, I know the support for this game is far and few between but if anyone plays this game regularly on Windows 10 and knows what I'm talking about, please let me know, I really like how this game plays!

Hi, I've been playing gp500 for many years now and with every new windows version the game has been more unstable.

Speed ups are unfortunately as far as i know inevitable, I have just started playing again after some time on windows 10 and they always occur after some time, some times the game just freezes which is even worse because it crashes.

The way i play is to set race time at 20%
Just enough to do a quick quali then 5 laps of race, it is still fun but not as 100%
