In the main game's folder are d3d11.dll and hires_flags.dds

When starting the DL I have things set like this:

Edit: If you start with a red square and a black L you don't have the DL connected.

Edit: If you start with a red square and a black L you don't have the DL connected.

The only thing I seem to miss is "hires_flags.dds", but apart from that everything is the same

EDIT: it seems like I got the datalogger symbol also displaying when I'm not running the program. It displays the same red square with the white L...though on closer inspection it seems to be a slightly grey L, but definitely not black.

Yeah, black was wrong, it was just due to my low angle of sitting in front of the screen while playing with controller. It's more medium grey when the DL is executed but not connected and the game has been started.

hmmm, any way to fix that? Because it is also Red with grey L when I have the datalogger open and did press the "Connect" button (which then obviously changes to a Disconnect button)

Yeah, as written in the tutorial: Don't run the datalogger as administrator. When I execute the DL as admin it does the same as you experience. That's why I wrote to not run it as admin.

Thing is, it doesn't run as admin, it never has

Then I have no clue. Maybe try running it as admin then will do for you *shrug* if it doesn't in a misterious way, you're out of luck, I'm afraid.
