DIY rig - are driver seats different from passengers'?

I want to get a real car seat to use for my diy rig. There is an occasion to get a nice passenger seat cheaply. So dumb question: Is it any different than a driver's seat?
I get that the seat adjustment thing will be on the left then.

The passenger seat is usually less worn and likely has less electronics going to it so they are usually a better bet.
