Discussion: Your First Trackside Experience

I think the Dutch TT in 1981 for a full week with my dad and mom. Sleeping in a caravan on the inner part of the old beautiful Assen circuit.

Watching 50cc, 80cc, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc, 500cc (Boet van Dulmen and my childhood hero Randy Mamola), Formula 1 (the bikes :D) and of course the mighty sidecars.

Excellent value for your money compared to the insane prices they are asking for MotoGP nowadays.

My first proper race was at Hockenheim in 1966 or 1967. One of the old timers in my unit suggested I go. He thought I would enjoy it. I did!:) The event was an FIM World Championship race. I got to see great riders like Hailwood, Agostini, Read, Fath and others. I also got to hear the Honda 250 6 cylinder bike (that's right, 250 with 6 cylinders). Needless to say, from that point on, I was a road racing fan for life.
