Car skin problems

Hiya,

When I save my skin as dds in photshop and then place it in the directory it doesnt show in rfactor? For some reason the icon also looks transparent compared to the originals already in the folder if that means anything?

Any help would be great?

What settings do you use to export the skin and icons?
Both have different ones.

Dxt5 or something like that. I mean the icon for the.dds file in the folder.

I used the settings from the rfactor website

for the skin DXT5 is fine, for the icons ARGB, sounds right. Do you use ALT in the file name?

If the DDS file icon in the windows folder looks transparent or completely white, it's possible something is wrong with the "apha" channel. If you are done painting the template in photoshop, save it directly as a DDS file. If you saving it as a jpeg first you'll lose the alpha channel.

and indeed. save it as "altF35.dds" (aslong the dds name contains "alt").

alt = alternative skin

DXT5: If it looks like this it should be good.
