F1 2010 Can't keep car upgrades?

What happens after you unlock a car upgrade( Engine throttle mapping was my first)? It seems to disappear when you start the next round. Seems absurd to only have it for one round.

My upgrades don't disappear and move on to next rounds. Perhaps you did'nt complete the objectives for all of the 3 practice sessions?

Of course I did, otherwise it wouldn't have unlocked. It just isn't available to apply to the setup. maybe it can't be applied during practice?

You can choose it while fiddling with car setting inpit box. Under "engine" you will have another throttle map.
