Can I run without Steam VR?

I always play music or TV whilst racing for some background noise, it seems with Steam VR I have to have either everything through the Rift headset or nothing rather than just the game audio through the Rift and everything else through my TV speakers. I'm also wondering if it is Steam VR that's stopping me from being able to alt+tab out of the game. It is really frustrating trying to setup and problem solve rF2 without being able to minimise it to use a browser!

Hi Andy, have you tried the openvr.dll?
Also, there is a checkbox in the rF2 launcher, auto close launcher or similar, which (I think) make alt+tabbing out work better.

Not sure if this is the latest version. OPENVR.dll
