Assetto Corsa loads onto event, but crashes when I start to drive

I haven't had any issues of this sort before, and I can't find anything else online relating to this. I can load into any track with any car, however when it loads, it comes up with a greyish screen and I am unable to drive. This happens whether I launch it directly from Steam, or via content manager. I have reinstalled it, verified game files, reinstalled content manager, and turned off custom shaders patch and other apps/mods that I believe could have interfered with this, but I have had no success so far. Apologies if this is a stupid mistake on my behalf, or something easily solved that I have somehow missed, but I would really like some assistance if any can be offered.
