SCS Software have revealed work in progress images of the new double trailer feature due to arrive for both sims as part of the next major update.

Fresh off the back of the recent heavy loads update, SCS Software have today confirmed that double trailers are making their way into both American Truck Simulator and European Truck Simulator 2, bringing to the simulation a very different form of haulage and something that has been awaited for some time amongst the sizeable user base for these games.

Not only have SCS announced double trailers, it actually appears that they have been in development some time back at SCS Software HQ and should be available in both simulations as early as the next major game update.

In something of a generous move by the devs, it has been confirmed that double trailers and the associated physics changes that comes with it will be deployed as a free update, made available as part of the upcoming 'point release' build, expected some time in the next couple of months.

Whilst SCS finish off the fine details of the new release, let's have a look at some pretty pictures taken directly from the beta build of the game...

This is indeed good news. I can't wait. I haven't played in a long time, but these updates along with another state will definitely put me back behind the wheel.

Same here, it's been a while due to never having enough time to get on the rig for things other than club races. These sims are coming on nicely (even from such a solid base anyway) and continue to get better.

Man I wish SCS made racing games!

SCS says on their blog "early summer". Not sure if this applies to the heavy loads too or just the double trailers

Absolutely agree 100%....or even a car delivery Sim much like ETS2 where you drive to pick up a car leave your car there, get in the new one and drive / deliver it to the new location...they still could use the ETS2 base game, remove the trucks and replace with cars....dreams are free I suppose...lol

Good call by SCS. Lots of people that have lost interest (such as myself) are going to get right back into ATS/ETS and swipe any new DLC's that are released around the same time. For me, haulin a B-double to New Mexico sounds like a nice way of killing a few hours.
