Wondering if anyone has made a mod (or would consider making one) that provides driver names above cars that's an alternative to the one baked into the game??
I've done a bunch of searching on here and through google, but only really found an old re-model from 2016 that won't suit the purpose and a mod that was made to be able to view it while in VR before native functionality for such got enabled.
Looking for something to use during broadcasts that will display names of drivers above the cars in something that looks a bit less "bland" than the baked in functionality.
Ideal features would be:
-Various adjustable options like text and background colour, shape, opacity, size etc
-Toggle things like the nationality flag on/off, the formatting of the display ("whole name" or "first Initial. Surname" for example)
-Ability to set them to not overlap one another, but rather move position so each is independently readable (might be too much to ask - see notes below*)
-The option to make their position static on the screens x or y axis (or both) with an indicator pointing to the car it's for
-Ability to set a "render distance from camera" so that only cars within x distance of view position will show them
-A hotkey to toggle it on and off (maybe hotkeys to enable/disable various options as well??)
-An option to make it "Fade in" and "Fade out" when toggled on or off or as a new car enters/exits the camera render distance
*each driver name box/bubble/shape would ideally have an indicator that points to it's car (think like a comic book speech bubble where it has a tail that points to the character talking) - as two or more cars approach one another, if the Driver Names of each are going to overlap, each Driver Name moves position on screen relative to the cars position so as to prevent overlap, while maintaining that "speech bubble tail" pointing to it's respective car. Again, Probably too much to ask for, but that's the idea.
