A question about RSCenter Menu in RSRBR

In the RSCenter Menu, when I click on Alone, there is an option SSE and from what I understand and read here, you can start the default RBR from there. But should it be possible to do everything you want in RBR then, e.g. the Rally School as well ?
I ask because when I try the Rally School from there (and having chosen my own profile and not Mulligatawny of course), I can start the lessons, but my car is very slow in accelerating and not getting enough speed.
When I start the game directly from the RichardBurnsRally_SSE.exe shortcut and choose my profile everything is o.k.
Am I doing something wrong or is this normal and to be expected and if so why ?

When you load up RBR via RSCenter, I'm fairly sure that the track surface for all rallyes within the game will change to whatever surface is active in RSCenter, and the vehicles will also change to what is in the selected group in RSCenter. I suspect the vehicle pack has been changed.

You can use the default cars in RSCenter by selecting the very topmost pack: "Choose Pack".
