After a teaser earlier in the week, Rennsport‘s newest car will be added to the platform on 22 September. As predicted, it will in fact be the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

As was predicted by many within the community, the car that Rennsport teased was in fact the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The car is used in spec series which act as a jumping-off point for many hopeful sportscar racers.

The car will be added in an update over the course of 22 September. Providing you have access to the Rennsport beta, keep checking the Epic Games Store for an update around 9pm CEST.

Porsche Cup Rennsport: Road To Hockenheim

Along with the introduction of the 911 GT3 Cup car to Rennsport, a new competition starts on the platform. On 22 October, the final round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland will be held at the Hockenheimring. This also coincides with the final rounds of the DTM and ADAC GT Masters seasons.

Dubbed the ‘Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Challenge Road to Hockenheim’, it takes the form of a hotlap time trial. From 22 September until 5 October, the competition will be available through Rennsport‘s own competition system. The sessions open up multiple times a day under the name ‘PECCC – Road to Hockenheim’.

It is open to drivers who are a minimum of 18 years of age, and are a registered citizen of a European country.

After the competition ends, the top three drivers will be invited to Hockenheim on the weekend of 22 October. They will have taxi rides, a paddock tour, get to meet the drivers competing in Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, and go on a grid walk.

If you are interested in competing but still do not have access to Rennsport‘s Closed Beta, you can sign up to the waitlist here. Keys are also handed out on the ESL R1 broadcast, so tune in tonight from 7pm CEST on the official Twitch and YouTube channels to try your luck!

If you go to an icecream store do you complain that they also have chocolate flavor just like 1034732 other icecream parlors?
No, but I'm also not inclined to try out a new parlor because they have chocolate and vanilla ice cream, which I can get everywhere. I'd go there for some exotic flavours, that I cannot get anywhere else.

But that's just content, maybe the graphics, sounds, handling physics, FFB and game modes make Rennsport stand out among the other sims, we'll see when it gets there.

All i know for myself is that literally every sim out there at the moment that has the 992 cup car feels different from the other sims and brings its uniqueness in some way to the table. So to me it rather is important if they are making a fun car to drive and not so much whether or not this car (or tracks) are already in other sims.

tried it, drives like ass,
it has zero cornering feel in the ffb, its literally dead, there is just force. no details.
remember how when ACC added cars to Early Access they were pretty much spot on? Not to say no tweaks and overhauls came later, but once in the game the cars worked. Kind of feel the updates to Rennsport are super slow. And its slated for a late 2023 or early 2024 release? I dont see this happening. The game is a mere alpha

Rennsport seem to be doing some things very well like not rushing out an unfinshed product and doing things properly but the content so far is very uninspiring.Nobody can get excited about a sim with GT3 cars,Porsche Carrera Cup and the Praga R1 that breaks down in real life all the time. They need something like a McLaren GT1,Zakspeed Capri,Can AM Lola or GT40 just to get people interested in the game .

One good update could fix the FFB.
Many sims changed from night to day experience when they (finally) fixed or upgraded their ffb routines.

i feel like this one is going to be a fizzle, wait 6 months for ti to go on sale for 5.99.. buy ti to complete you collection, store with gt2 and rf1. assuming it even ever actually releases.

Nah, Porsche/ESL/Saudi's are pumping money in Rennsport as an esport. It'll probably stick around for a couple of years due to people wanting to "go pro" while no one actually enjoys playing it, like Heroes of the Storm.
