Endurance racing fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Le Mans Ultimate. The official WEC game features all cars and tracks of the championship’s 2023 season and is set to launch on February 20, although in an Early Access state rather than the full release as it was initially planned.

Nonetheless, being based on rFactor 2 and bringing a complete grid of Hypercars as first-party content for the first time in sim racing, LMU is high on the list of most exciting releases in 2024 for many. A day before launch, the Le Mans Ultimate release time has been confirmed on the game’s official Twitter account.

Check the list below for the Le Mans Ultimate release time in your part of the world via a representative city. All 2024 WEC locations are also included.

Le Mans Ultimate Release Times

  • Los Angeles: 4 am
  • Austin: 6 am
  • New York: 7 am
  • Sao Paulo: 9 am
  • London: 12 pm
  • Le Mans: 1 pm
  • Spa-Francorchamps: 1 pm
  • Imola: 1 pm
  • Manama (Bahrain): 4 pm
  • Doha (Qatar): 4 pm
  • New Delhi: 5:30 pm
  • Fuji: 9 pm
  • Sydney: 11 pm
  • Auckland: 1 am (Wendesday)

Put more universally, this list translates to a launch time of 12 pm UTC, which also aligns with the approximate unlock time that the game’s Steam page gives. In fact, it had changed from “approximately 1 day” to “23 hours” even before the official announcement had been made.

To give another preview, Studio 397 and Motorsport Games have released another gameplay video. This time, it shows the POV of the #7 Toyota GR010 hybrid carving its way through lapped traffic at Fuji, trying to make up for time lost at the start. The video provides a glimpse of how the AI handles multi-class racing, which should be very interesting to singleplayer sim racers.

Honest and respectful question, have you spent any time in rF2? Aside from car models, there's a world of difference between AC, rF2 and assumably LMU. From racing AI, to multiplayer, to tire models, to underlying systems. There's ample room for all of them in the market and despite the staggering amount of work done by mod makers for AC, it leaves plenty to be desired and improved upon.
I agree. AC is great and all, but even gamermuscle will need to move on at some point. There are not so many serious sim games that one at this price is worth passing up. Despite the lack of VR I will buy it, in the hope that VR gets added before MSG go bust...

to race nordschleife and my favorite rf2 tracks with the LMU cars, or Fuji and Portimao with the BTCC cars;), or to do the opposite, to add rf2 content into LMU, will see.
Ok… have you ever modded before?

Also how are you planning on modding LMU since modding won’t be supported?

You got quite the work ahead of you

Really excited for this! started playing rFactor 2 few days before and it feels and drives great, the Ai is way better than AC too so I'm enjoying it, the only negative thing to be said right now is the Toyota's hybrid engine sounds, they are too loud.

I'll consider pulling my credit card out after the first two or three bug and patch threads here.

This is awesome but I'd still of preferred btcc game. It seems trendy at the moment for gt3, f1 and now lmdh. Also ironic when there is some kind of irl event like daytona 500, nurburg 24h that we see the trends for those classes explode. May as well get an iPhone, buy a super dry jacket and setup a tiktok page..

Quite intrigued by this. May be a let down, may be great, who knows at this point. Won't buy it until VR is implemented though. Fingers crossed.

I don't have high expectations but it's only EUR 30

I can't arrange for a home office day tomorrow though

Given the relatively limited amount of content (i.e., one series), I am hoping that Studio 397 can deliver a compact, highly-focused variant of rF2. If so, I’ll happily pay for it. I recall years ago when rF2 was touted as having class-leading AI, but somehow such initial accolades have been diluted and diminished as more and more content was added—and everything associated with $MSGM imploded. For that matter, if they could produce such a success for WEC, I would also pay for a complete BTCC, TOCA Forever standalone title. But in both cases, the product has to justify the potential for profits.

It looks like an exceptionally well-designed mod for RF2... just a mod, not a new sim racing game! The latest video showcases the same interpretation of RF2 but with enhanced graphics. What more can be done to improve in this genre and game? Still RF2 can do it, so why to pay +$59 for a mod!

Love the feel of the cars in rF2, very hopeful in this one. If I can see the potential in early access, I'll be happy. For me the end goal would be: a solid race where the a.i follows a strategy correctly (not pitting on the last lap), eventual single player championships and rF2 physics. Should be doable. If it needs things added that's fine, start with solid content and build from there.

Having a real grid of accurate cars all at their right comparable strength is something we just don't see these days so this is a big one for me. I respect ACC for what they did but I just couldn't get the right feel and on my potato it runs so poorly. Fingers crossed for this but patient regardless. Is this game needed? Well, be honest, is anything in this hobby needed?! I want it, my house would be empty if i only bought what I need.

it's 30€, you can wait for a conversion mod for free if you thinks rf2 is better

No offense(!) but pls God let AC finally have rolling start /SC and this game isn't even needed. Same graphics and nothing spectacular I don't see in AC or mods already. Don't mean to sound harsh and I do appreciate the efforts as I always do, but do you guys think this game is really needed that much!? How about Nürburgring 24h next - would be my suggestion.
AC is out for 10 years and still doesn’t have a proper online ranked system and a good build in hud. I mean AC is nice but it’s still not perfect.

I'm sorry, I am not so strict about the origins of mods generally, especially if I own the content elsewhere, but talking about this in every thread before the game is even out, is such a... shallow move, to not use other words...
