Le Mans Ultimate’s Next Update Slated For June, Imola Scan Completed

Le Mans Ultimate’s Next Update Slated For June, Imola Scan Completed.jpg
Work continues on the early access Le Mans Ultimate. There won’t be a major update in May, with June as the target.

Following April’s ‘Patch 3’ for Le Mans Ultimate, the next major additions are set for June completion.

Affirmation of the timeline comes from, initially, Motorsport Games’s CEO when he talked to OverTake recently, followed by updates from development team members in the Le Mans Ultimate Discord.

“Regarding [a] roadmap, I think it’s clear we can’t yet commit to certain dates, but we are working on an update for June (I feel that much is out of the bag now) - it won’t have everything you want, but it’ll be a big first step,” posted Ben Rossiter-Turner, VP of Competition at Motorsport Games.

When asked if online driver swaps will arrive then, however, the answer is a bit more complex.

“I will specifically say that isn’t happening for June,” continued Rossiter-Turner.

“It’s very complicated and intertwined with other work so that we have a better solution than rFactor 2.”

Further clarification was provided that while there may not be a ‘major’ update in May is expected, hotfixes may still be issued between now and next month.

2024 Imola Scan Concluded

2024 FIA World Endurance Series content was confirmed as being in development before the simulation’s February early access launch. It now seems that it has taken a step forward with a new scan of the Imola circuit being concluded.

“There was a 2024 Imola scan done weeks before the race,” confirmed Dan Wrenn, Marketing and Content Producer at Motorsport Games.

Le Mans Ultimate is currently on a tour of European WEC rounds, recently visiting the Imola round between 19th-21st April. Now it transpires the venue was scanned on the run-up to the event.

What do you expect from Le Mans Ultimate’s next patch? Let us know in the comments below or on X: @OverTake_gg.

This is just me assuming, but this seems to indicate the 2024 DLC will come out in pieces rather than just one complete package.
Nah, I presume they just wanted show off that they *are* doing something. It will come as one pack, the 2024 pack. Somewhere late in 2025 ;)

Not going to say a lot in this but: I am sorry to say, it is. The entire base is build up from rFactor 2 steam branch so yes it's a clone. Your argument should be: it's a further developed clone, which then is correct as there is now new and cool things in.
That's a fair clarification – thanks Jimmi. :)

I refunded LMU as it is EXACTLY like rF2 but in a different jacket. I hoped for a new game but it's a DLC. So I refunded because I already own rF2 with the Sebring and Le Mans circuit.

You are forgetting Bahrain, Monza and Spa.
But yeah no real hybrid system in rF2 code - but yet no real hybrid cars in there either. But as said before there is some nice things implemented into LMU that rf2 does not have nor ever will get. Also just look at those pretty cockpits :)

ASAP: Dedicated Server ( League Play. )

Would like to see an Open Testing day option rather than using Race Weekend Practice.

PLEASE give me the option to set number of AI drivers in a session PLEASE !!!!!

Open testing is already possible...

Just click the different classes in race weekend to turn them all off... Then you get the track to yourself...

LMU, is not exactly like RF2, that is not true, there are many differences and not just the missing features.
All the new features and the way the game interact with the user and the hardware is very different, for the better IMO.
That said, it is enough like RF2, that anyone who do not like RF2 for some reasons, will most probably do not like LMU for those same reasons and if someone enjoy RF2, he should enjoy LMU at least as much and probably more.
LMU is not and never will replace RF2, it is a new offering and a different concept.

what's the use of a superreal cockpit if the game is useless. I don't have time to observe the cockpit when I have to concentrate on driving. The simulator needs other things like a perfect cockpit or seat and other nonsense.

Words are important and have a specific meaning w3 should not forget. In which way LMU is an rfactor2's clone? The basic initial offering in itself just makes the cmoning statement absolutely wrong. It focuses on one series and it is closed to modding. Rfactor2's offering is absolutely the opposite.

LMU is just a game based on the same engine than rfactor2, like it has been done by many developpers since the beginning of simracing games. The truth is that the last 10 years, this good habit has been vastly forgoten (except by Reiza), with developpers who have been trying, often unsuccessfully, to reinvent the wheel. LMU id going back to the basic, to the formula which made a lot of successful games, and less costly, many years ago.

AC is more an rfactor1 than LMU is an rfactor2's one. As a simracer, I didn't really like rfactor1 and AC, although I even bought some mods, has never been my favorite sim, because of their open nature which makes them less immersive than others (yes Content Manager and the huge dedicated community makes AC a much better experience now).

LMU is more a GTR2 clone (although GTR2 was open to modding, but it could.only simulate GT races rules). And that's why I keep an eye on its developpement (not trusting MSG).

One of the poll things on this website recently showed that only a smaller percentage of users have VR, so really I don't think it's the end of the world if it doesn't have it. Seems like a vocal minority in the comments makes it sound more popular than it is.
You have a narrow minded approach: i.e. when you have such a small use base as LMU, you should try to capture every user you can. Many of us use iracing only because it has great VR support despite being not nearly as good as LMU in terms of.... Everything but content and multiplayer. Iracing has 50000 users. No way to know how many VR users but even 2% of that is more than the daily LMU average.
It's all about costs vs benefits in the end. But be implementation of VR shouldn't that difficult given it's already working at 70-80%.

Since it coming out, become my most played Sims , beating AM2 e rfactor2. Until now it's very good overall. Just some Crash appear after races without impact Dr or.sr..
