Rennsport Seeking Your Ideas, Development Priorities

Rennsport Seeking Your Ideas, Development Priorities.jpg
The embryonic sim racing platform’s latest survey would like to know your priority features.

A new survey has been issued to some Rennsport closed beta members, and it asks users what they like, don’t like and what they aspire to.

Alongside the typical questions pertaining to your sim racing set-up, there are three qualitative queries with the opportunity to provide more detailed feedback:
  • Cars and tracks you’d like to see in Rennsport
  • Features you’d like to see in Rennsport
  • Any other thoughts or feedback
These are potentially key. Whenever an article is posted about Rennsport, many valid questions about its place in the market, purpose and its future plans crop up. Now, provided you are in the beta, there is the chance to let rip and provide feedback to help potentially shape the future product – in whatever form that may end up being.

There is also a giant list of features, from triple screens to virtual reality, controller support and ‘better’ driving physics for members to assign in order of priority.

The nascent platform has been going through what seems to be a transformational period of late. First unveiled with notable fanfare in 2022, progress since then has been seemingly ponderous.

This year, however, several job listings have been published for game development roles and a roadmap was published last month. 2,500 keys per week are currently being distributed.

A second developer ‘radio check’ platform showcase is expected imminently.

The move follows surveys from the likes of EA SPORTS WRC – which hinted at the possibility of DLC and new features – and iRacing.

What do you think is the most important ‘feature’ that Rennsport should work on? Let us know in the comments below, or on X: @OverTake_gg

So a sim with no unique selling point is now asking the people who have already downloaded the early release version what they want? They have done most of the job already on these people. They would be better off looking at all the posts on RD forum that involve Rennsport because they are the people that Rennsport need to convert to players. All we have seen so far is a cut & paste job of all the content in RR/ACC/RF2/AMS2 /Iracing.

For content surely looking at what tracks and car mods are most downloaded in Assetto Corsa would be a good starting point.Maybe a couple of hillclimb tracks with some of the fantastic cars that you see on YT.Maybe some Goodwood content with GT40s and Can Am cars or Capris,Rovers & Camaros etc.

I really don't care if they start with GT1, 2, 3 or 4, endurance or touringcars or whatever. They should concentrate on the basics first. Good physics, good ffb, good graphics, good sound and a good user interface. As long as this is not much better as the other sims arround, why would we care about a new sim, which does the same, only not so good? What I have seen so far, I don't think they will make it at the end.

More thinking about the “very popular” Brazilian and Argentinian racing classes and nobody will buy. :roflmao:
Seriously avoid strange car names like Bayer, Loire or Adonis. If not possible to avoid because of licensing issues, then make the car (limited) open to modders to introduce the right badges, skins and car names.

There's nothing that Rennsport does that other sims aren't already doing much better. Work on the sim is so glacial that the whole thing feels like a laundering scheme.

They forgot to make a marketing study before launching the game, having their imagination working over reality, and they are trying to do a Q&A interaction now, still not willing to pay for a marketing expertise. They just don't know what they are doing and how to run a company. And they are not able to use UE5. Sorry for their permanent employees, if they have some, but this company is already something from the past, it is dead.

I will repeat the same question I asked the last time this sim was mentioned on this site: Who’s financing the development? Because it seems as if it’s been under development for a long time. All this time without any sales… How can this title ever generate a profit?

Middle East + Porsche through shell companies.

So all the hype and thought you had it all figured out with the Esports. Now you come crawling to us.....No thank you. Why should I care about your survey now when you left us out the game development cycle all this long........

Completely scrap the NFT style MOD idea, make it exactly like Assetto Corsa or the modding community will find a better product to develop for. OIr jsut release what you have, if AC2 is anything like AC1 but with better graphics and physics then RS is already doomed.

Here is an idea - not making yet another GT3 at Spa / Monza game !

It's already more then that... Road Atlanta in the Praga was good fun last time I tried it... But when you have a product in development you need to focus on getting bums in seats... And GT3s are still strangely popular...

For me Rennsport is doing the right things by focusing on what they have been, MP and physics, whilst Unreal work on the engine... Unreal may not of been the best choice, but then neither was the Madness... Merging 2 engines together takes time to get right, Rennsport still have plenty of time to get it right and have it singing as it's not even out of BETA... It's not year 4 with a 2nd development team with merging problems still glaring, the Madness engine should stand as a worst case scenario for Rennsport...

The recent FFB update came with less grip in the tyres... Not more like other companies... With better FFB you don't need as much grip in the tyres as there's not as much need to compensate for those who can't feel the car...
