Round two of the championship in Saudi Arabia was dominated by Red Bull and Max Verstappen yet again. The team from Milton Keynes appear to be on an entirely different level from the competition. But all is not well at Red Bull...

Verstappen addresses speculation over F1 future

Throughout the Dutchman's media duties on Thursday, Verstappen's future with Red Bull was at the forefront of the questions. The controversy including Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, is where all the drama stems from.

Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez was quoted 'It would be a blow for the team' if Verstappen was to rip up his 2028 contract and leave the team for a competitor. Whilst Verstappen leaving Red Bull is just speculation at present, when the Christian Horner situation evolves and eventually concludes, expect the Dutchman to express his opinions publically.

Verstappen heads into this weekend’s event at Albert Park with a 15-point advantage over Perez in the drivers’ standings, while Red Bull sits 38 clear of their nearest rival Ferrari in the constructors’ battle.

Carlos Sainz Returns
Following a successful appendix surgery, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz will take his place behind the wheel of his Ferrari in Melbourne. After the incredible debut of Oliver Bearman in Saudi Arabia, the pressure is on for Sainz to deliver.

Ferrari confirmed on Wednesday this week that Sainz was returning to his team in Melbourne, with Bearman, who will be racing in Formula 2 this weekend, on call just in case.

Ferrari looked to have slightly closed the gap to Red Bull in Jeddah. Charles Leclerc showed some competitive pace and teammate Bearman came home an incredible 7th on debut.

10 Years On: Magnussen Scores A Debut Podium
Back in 2014 Kevin Magnussen, driving for a struggling Mclaren, debuted at Albert Park. A hard fought race with the likes of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo lead to the Dane scoring a podium on debut.

After the race, Magnussen would be promoted to second place as Ricciardo was disqualified from his home event. Much to the dismay of the home fans.

It's hard to back Magnussen for a return to the Australian podium this weekend. the Haas machinery is not up to par with the front runners, judging from the performances in the last two races. However, Magnussen has been one of the more exciting drivers to watch in the races this year.

Formula One is often seen as predictable in the modern age, but Magnussen is one of the few drivers on the grid that is capable of pulling a result out of nowhere. His qualifying run at the Austrian Grand Prix in 2019 with a much younger Haas outfit for another example of what he can do on his day.

How To Watch The Australian Grand Prix

As ever, Formula One race streams are available as part of the official F1 TV subscription while many channels around the world will show race coverage.

I believe, based on his performance, that he has to absorb the same hits as Grosjean, Mazepin, Kvyat, Giovinazzi.
Not saying he doesn't deserve some criticism but it's the way 'experts' criticise him. He's not a nob like Mazepin.

Is this a trend where Lewis is chasing a setup whenever Russel out qualifies him? Why is 8 time world Champ doing the setup experimentation?
Surely Hamilton is a big boy now and can go his own way? Hasn't he previously said they don't drive the same so won't have the same setups?

I am really pissed off that Max doesn't utter a word in his new commercial. He has such of an announcer's voice. :whistling:

Yeah, just watch the highlight version on F1TV. F1 has obviously lost it in terms of must see sports.
lol can u stop writing bs?thank u. there's no sport more important or watched than f1 even if we now have a dominating driver, there's been a lot to watch and focus on behind max in the races this year

Wow max pulled out an unbelievable lap exactly when it was needed, despite ferrari being really competitive, i actually expected ferrari to grab the pole, great job carlos anyway, while charles was disappointing.

The guy has a F1TV subscription to only watch the highlights

Yes, but, it seems his way has been the wrong way this season. I am always in favor of each driver getting a car set up for the individual, as much as the design allows.

Slept too little this weekend so I fear the GP will come too soon for me. For those early birds, enjoy the race!
I am always amused by Euro fans who worry about start times. Since the late 1980's when Speed & then ESPN first broadcast F1 live, we have always had 4 to 5am start times in the USofA!(west coast)
