So I’ve rethought some of my original TMI dashboards/overlays.
- Because I have moved to VR, these are now dashboards not overlays (though the conversion to and fro is simple enough from the “More” menu in SimHub).
I deploy them using the Overlay Toolkit.
- Got rid of one whole dashboard, by putting the information in places where it makes more sense.
- For the timing dashboard, I moved many of the calculations out of the dashboard itself, so I could
- Reuse values once calculated.
- Tweak calculations without then having to maintain the calculations reliably in multiple locations.
The result are the four dashboards for
- Car status
So you can see
- gear, rpm, and how well you are doing on fuel
- tyre, brake and engine temperatures, and whether your car has any damage
- Global map, with info on the track, weather, and stint.
- Local map / radar
- Timing, for detailed, or at-a-glance info on personal performance, and performance relative to class and opponents.
