Forza Horizon 5 Apex Allstars Update Adds Five New Race Cars, Plus Yet More DLC

A new Apex Allstars Festival Playlist kicks off this Thursday in Forza Horizon 5, joined by a fourth DLC pack in as many months.

The Apex Allstars Festival Playlist for Forza Horizon 5 begins later this week with a motorsport theme. Players will have the option of unlocking five fresh racing cars too – although another new DLC pack uses repurposed Forza Motorsport content and slaps a premium price atop it.

Chief among the new additions for players to earn is a drag car. A Pro Stock Camaro by Summit Racing in 2013, to be more precise, with 1,400bhp as an 80-point series reward. This, rather obviously, is designed for straight-line speed, and not handling prowess.

The racing variant of the 2016 Ford GT (#66) makes a series return, first seen in Horizon 3 (and several Forza Motorsport games) in summer, available for 20 points.

Another motorsport-derived car arrives in the autumn week. Provided you earn 20 points, the Hyundai Elantra TCR could be yours. Interestingly, this makes its debut in Horizon and not current Forza Motorsport.

In Winter, there is a Time Attack version of the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and in spring, a model seen in the past two Forza Motorsport games makes its way across to Horizon – the Porsche 911 RSR #92 race car.

The Weekly Challenges are all cars that have been featured on Forza Motorsport game covers.

Here are the five new cars available through the playlist:

  • Ford GT GTLM Le Mans #66 2016 - Summer, 20pts
  • Hyundai Elantra N Bryan Herta Autosport #98 2021 - Autumn, 20 pts
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sierra Enterprises Time Attack #1 2015 - Winter, 20pts
  • Porsche 911 RSR GT Team #92 2017 - Spring, 20pts
  • Chevrolet Summit Racing Pro Stock Camaro - 80 pts (series reward)

EventLab Road Items

As is the trend, further items will be added to the EventLab roaster to help creatives make and publish routes.

Eight new asphalt road probs will be added with this update.

Corvette E-Ray

The all-wheel-drive hybrid Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray will become a permanent addition to the Horizon 5 Autoshow – initially, it was only available as a reward for those who also purchased Forza Motorsport.

Apex AllStars DLC Pack

It wouldn’t be a Horizon 5 update in 2024 without a premium, aka paid-for, DLC pack of additional cars.

Taking the same title as the new Festival Playlist, but an optional extra for all players (even those with the Car Pass DLC), the Apex AllStars set features seven racing cars that cannot be earnt in-game through credits or festival points.

These are:
  • BMW M Motorsport M8 GTE #1 2018
  • Cadillac Racing ATS V.R #3 2015
  • Chevrolet Corvette Racing C8.R #3 2020
  • Mercedes-AMG GT3 2018
  • Lexus RC F GT3 Vasser Sulivan #14 2020
  • Ferrari 488 GTE Risi Competizione #62 2019
  • Porsche 911 GT3 R 2018
It should be noted that the Lexus LC F GT3, Ferrari 488, Mercedes-AMG GT3, Cadillac were also premium DLC recently for Forza Motorsport. One car recreation, two pay-days for Microsoft...

This specific Porsche was also part of the Race Day car pack for the Forza Motorsport while the Corvette and BMW were included as base content in the circuit-racing game.

In essence, this is a paid DLC pack for repurposed content, which leaves a somewhat mixed sentiment. It will be available tomorrow, 23rd April, for $9.99/€9.99/£7.99.

The latest Festival Playlist kicks off 25th April. May’s update will last on the 23rd of that month with a ‘Retrowave’ theme.

This pack add & new cars not 5. I just bought it. Has 7 cars in this update not 5. These pics cover the 7 cars in that pack. I have no clue how you count but 4+3 = 7. I would not have paid $8.99 just for 5 cars. I would have bought a car voucher instead and bought the cars that way

Anyone that wastes their money on anything to do with this game is a mug anyway.

The update adds five cars for free via the festival playlist.

The optional paid-for DLC, adds seven.

I believe this is very clearly laid out in the article :)

There's a big difference between cars that come via the update and what you are talking about which is a paid DLC pack.
