1999 Marlboro 500 Track Skin For Auto Club Speedway 1.1

This is a track skin for auto_club_speedway. The track was known as California Speedway, built by Roger Penske as the venue for the finale for the PPG CART World Series in the late '90s.

The 1999 Edition of the Marlboro 500 was a tragic one. On Lap 9, Greg Moore would tragically lose his life in a crash on the infield grass coming out of turn 2. We can only dream of what could have been for Moore's career as he had signed a contract to be at Team Penske for 2000.

The race controversially continued on, Juan-Pablo Montoya and Dario Franchitti ended up level on points after a Titanic Scrap for the Championship battle after 20 Rounds. Montoya won the championship due to his higher number of wins, and thus stamped his name in American Open-Wheel Racing History

Adrian Fernandez Won the Race in the #40 Patrick Racing Reynard-Ford. This race would mark the start of the end of CART which would eventually merge with the Indy Racing League by 2008, in what is now known today as The NTT Indycar Series.

California Speedway returned to the calendar in 2012, now known as Auto Club Speedway. It left the series after 4 races in 2015
