RaceRoom Racing Experience are bringing the new 2018 FIA WTCR series to the simulation, starting with the Audi Sport RS 3 LMS TCR... and a competition...

Many touring car fans see the still relatively young TCR regulation rule set as the next big thing in tin top racing, having watched the regulations grow from a single European series into one of the widest spread and most popular forms of touring cars since the heady heights of the SuperTouring era back in the early 1990s. Having spread to seemingly every corner of the globe with various national championships popping up almost monthly, the FIA have seen the potential of the regulations and adopted the TCR rule set to the newly launched World Championship series for 2018, replacing the rapidly declining World Touring Car Championship with the new WTCR World Touring Car Cup series.

Having enjoyed a strong and long lasting relationship with the WTCC for many years, Sector3 Studios and the RaceRoom Racing Experience simulation have confirmed WTCR 2018 will be heading to the sim soon, with the stunning Audi RS 3 LMS TCR already available to drive in game. To celebrate what Sector3 are calling a WTCR 'Prologue', the Swedish studio have launched a new official WTCR eSport championship using the new Audi, with a change to win cash prizes and race against real WTCR drivers! The Audi RS 3 LMS TCR is available in game now as part of the WTCR eSport Prolouge series in game.

Of course I am happy with new cars coming in R3E sticking to racing of today, but I would enjoy as well some classics addition one day -iconics and less iconic ones, as there are many choices on decades of racing cars.
I would love that, but at the same time i think it does only make sense if we get a number of classic tracks..i don't see too much sense in throwing classic low-downforce low-grip cars around modern high-downforce orientated tilkdromes..besides the surroundings not fitting at all, leading to missing immersion (at least for me).
I think there is a real market niche regarding classic tracks currently...just imagine any sim with 60s/70s Spa, Silverstone, Monza, Hockenheim, Zandvoort, Nordschleife and Österreichring and the respective cars - in terms of content that would definitely be my fav

While I was waiting to get my ram back I had great fun with the P & G mod for GTR2. Ran my own Goodwood festival, it would be something to do that in R3E.

I think it makes a lot of sense, myself. There are already a few excellent classics in R3E that are extremely immersive, so they've shown what they can do. The continuing popularity of mods like P&G and of old sims like GT Legends shows that there's more than a niche market out there for classic content, if someone would just step and do it for a modern sim.

Mine too! The only problem I see with this is that so many simmers make a ridiculously big deal about tracks being laser-scanned and 100% ultra-accurate in every way. You can't laser scan something which no longer exists and working from videos and photos isn't ideal. Don't get me wrong, this kind of pin-point accuracy isn't something I care about as long as the spirit and feel is there, but so many people do. Maybe some devs are scared of the inevitable criticism they'd get for not being "perfect" in certain people's eyes?
 
Well, Project Cars 2 has some historic circuits, including Spa... (runs for cover)

And AMS does have quite a few historic circuits as well, including Hockenheim, Spielberg or Kyalami.
 
The problem always is the AI, the breaking point for the other cars is wrong and the crashes became the game in a frustating experience. Should try like in Project Cars 2 or Assetto and create "AI agression". I prove "adaptable AI" but in the corners (and in the straight lines too) the rivals always crash me. Its a shame.
How early are you braking O.o
The only thing they do is braking 50 meters to early and way to hard but through some fast corners (not talking of flat or slight lift) you just can't follow them.
 
T04STY i play in racing games since GP1, i understand the breaking point but in RRE the behaviour is crazy, Project Cars 2, Assetto or RFactor 2 has "% AI agression", for me is a kind of solution.
More cars, series, tracks are ok but if the other cars crash me the game became so frustating.
 
Currently is the same in Indycar. The brake and the acceleration should be progressive, but the bots brake too early or too late and crash especially in the corners. % AI agression is the solution.

Why do I need out-of-date videos when I have the sim and know from my own first-hand experience what I'm talking about? :rolleyes: You're not going to convince me that your own driving has nothing to do with it, because as I've already told you twice, this has been discussed to death and proven in other, dedicated AI threads on this forum.

If you have AI issues either post a new thread or post in one of the existing threads. Further OT posts here about it will be removed.
