Preface. I was determined to use the fatty vette and prove to myself that I can compete with a not so hot car. I was not that fast and always thought that a lap could be better. Maybe I didnt devote enough time to the challenge that is MidOhio in the GTSport class.


Q: I did just fine for my liking placing myself 5th on the grid.

R1: We start and I go for my standard launch. I lose it getting into the side of Yves (didnt seem to slow him down at all) but I am sorry for the contact. I did hit Saul as well but he was able to continue. I waited for the pack to pass and then rejoined the race. I pass 2 cars off in madness. I then pass another that looked like he was off pace waiting for one of the off cars. I am on Erics mosler and I pass him getting onto the front straight.

L2+: I get into a the zone and cath Dennis, Saul, and Glenn by the end of the lap. They are dicing for position which allowed me to close. I pass Dennis is T1 (he allowed it) and Glenn goes wide mid chicane. I attempt to outbrake Saul for t5 and get a loose on entry. There is contact and i wait for him to rejoin. Glenn makes it past us and now my nerves are broken. I am annoyed that I had contact that was my fault.

lL6-8 Glenn, Saul, and myself are lined up and have some good racing. On L10 Saul goes for the pass going into the hairpin turn, I intend to follow, he checks up and I hit him pretty good but we both are able to keep it together. Saul does complete the pass onthe front straight and then Glenn gets silly loose on exit of T1. I am currently P7.

L12: I have 2 moments all my myself and Glenn passes me for P7.

I end up P6 as I pass someone in the pits and someone is slow as they are on fumes. A very fun race but the result was not what I had hoped for. My arms are tired and the mind is as well.


R2: I start P3 behind a bimmer (dennis) and Saul is just to my left. I launch with violence!!!!!! Dennis and Saul get a little loose on launch and pinch the rear of my car as I pass between them. Saul and I gap the pack. He stays right on me but I get into the zone as there isnt anyone to follow.

My zone ends lap 4 in madness as I lose it. Both Saul and Tyler pass me.

I now have Yves behind me by 3 seconds with Nelson following him. I am determined to podium. Nelson makes it past Yves at some point and closes in on me. I get very very sloppy on L15 but hold it together for P3.

I am happier with R2.


Very entertaining event even with the lack luster finish on my part.

Hooray, sign me up I've been waiting for a change like this for awhile as I miss racing the touring cars, but can rarely make the great friday events anymore Hopefully the turnout will be at least half of what a normal friday is!

That Cadwell version is soooooooo much better! (The other one was from a different team I think).

And I am actually faster on it ! Am I the person with the lower rank.... so I have most to gain !

EDIT: No have something to loose.

What is actually better for the ranking, not to participate in a race or to catch a DNF?

dnf is -20, finishing will always give you positive points, whihc would drop you 10 places
