Re: Minidumps

Test Step #1
  1. Browse to you Location folder
  2. Search the folder for "_output" and delete all found. Please post here which tracks you find these files in so others can clean their installs too :)
  3. test Vitus
  4. if this doesn't solve move to #2

Test Step #2
  1. rename your Locations folder to say LocationsXX
  2. create a new Locations folder
  3. reinstall the track
  4. run game and test
  5. if problem solved, there is a clash between this track and another
  6. to find the other track, start cutting and pasting tracks from the old "LocationXX" folder to the new "Locations" (I add them by alpha, so all the tracks that start with a,b &c) and retest, repeat till you get a crash, then you'll have narrowed the erroneous track to a 3 alpha group
  7. remove the last group of tracks added, and add one by one till you get the minidumps. Remember that you are loading Vitus every time you test

Test Step #3
  1. browse to your CustomSkins folder and rename it CustomSkinsXX
  2. test Vitus
  3. if fixed, do as the process for the Locations folder where you add back slowly sets of car skins till you find the erroneous skin

What times are we seeing? I've managed a 1:03.4 but there is easily 1/2 second lost there. Also, any tips on how not to melt the Right Front?

I've ran a 1:02.899, but for the most part I'm doing low 1:03s. I can't offer any tips on how to reduce tyre wear though, I'm not exactly known for being good on my tyres as it is... :p

Here's my lap (1:03.08 or something like that) in the Toledo, on a Qualifying setup. Just whack it in your REPLAYDATA folder:

There are free alternatives to Adobe's RTMP server. YouTube doesn't even use that. They use Lighttpd which is a free open source web server, much like Apache, which can stream flash video just fine when properly setup. Also, why pay for a service such as livestream.com when Ustream is free? Just a thought.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that bandwidth and hardware cost can add up quickly. Just saying that there are much cheaper alternatives available to those you have listed. :)

Of course I know there are cheaper ways to do it, I do feel though that if we had all that in-house as it were, it would become very popular and present issues with scalability we might not have the financial support to resolve.

One would guess that these times are being set in dry conditions...what about when it rains?
