It was my first GTRevo race on RD and i have to say that it was great event:).

I didnt calculate amount of fuel well and 4min. before end i had to take second pitstop-i was about 5liters short-could been 8th or 7th at the end but beacouse of that i was 11th.Had really some good fights with other drivers.Once more sorry for Ramon i was trying to let You pass my car but i did it in wrong way...

Wish every League race was like that(specially last one),lots of fair play, and good driving:thumb:
Thanks everyone for great race, specially organisers.

Well safe to say i probably had the most track time and preperation for this one, early in qual was a bit of struggle with some real quick guys up front hitting the mark,i stunned myself with a new PB time of 1:24.5xx for pole start,my plan was to try an early brake away and push like crazy until the tyres went, but Ramon had a different plan, which was to stick with me and harrass as much as possible for the lead!!,i got the gap up to just over 2secs then my pace dropped off a bit,one small loose moment coming out the final turn was enough for Ramon to take the lead,i tried to take it back but didnt have the confidence in the tyres to take a dive in,now Jari has homed in on me and threatning to put me back to 3rd spot,i made a quick plan in my head to stay out until Ramon starts dropping me more than 2.5secs.
I made my pit at about the 23 mins left mark and used a preset to change all 4 tyres and 3L fuel,it went very nice and fast and smooth and i was out in 5th,now was the time i made my good fast laps and after the pit shakedown i was just ahead of Ramon again,i had a really good final stint and didnt suffer near as much pace drop off, ofcourse Ramon was always close in striking distance if i made another tiny slip up,thankfully i didnt :thumb:.
Very good job Ramon with almost no track and car prep time!!,and also Oliver putting 2 Astons on the podium!!! (Bulldogs FTW!!!) :becky:
Many thanks to all of you for making my first official RD event so much fun guys!.
Stay tuned for the next one im planning, something for the hardcore element to really get there teeth into!!.

Fantastic Race tonight!

I never drove on Mid-Ohio, so this afternoon I did some practice on it and it paid off :)

No problems in Qualify, got my PB with 1.24.9x and very pleased with it. I think James would be in front of me if he didn't had those disconnect problems.

Race started well with Gary starting from Pole. In the first laps I was right on his tail, but could not do anything. Later on Gary drove slowly away from me until the backmarkers appeared. He lost some time and I was behind him again. After some laps he made one small mistake, but enough for me to pass. But I could not run away far, the Z4 is good in cornering but not on the straight. I think I had about 2 sec lead till the pitstops were upcoming.
Just a lap before my pitstop I was right behind Jacek, and his intention was to let me pass; but he/I judged it wrong and he was slowing down much heavier then expected. Could not avoid a small kiss which took Jacek on the grass. Sorry mate, difficult to judge who's fault it was. Blame me :)

Luckily the car was not badly damaged but I was still on a full pitstop strategy. Had to adjust the fuel to make it to the end. The car was enjoying my fuel more then expected. Also changed 4 tires. After pitstop I was right behind Gary again and Jari was joining us. We drove some very nice laps till the finish where Gary and I had enough fuel, unfortunately Jari had not enough. He disappeared; or maybe made mistake, I don't know.

Race was cool, I love this track. This is a track where you have to respect the tight corners and it will pay off. :)

See ya next time, thanks for the great racing.

PS. signing ons means please join the server in practice or you might loose your spot to one of the reserve drivers. We can't wait till the last 5 mins in qualify to judge who will show up or not.

I Also an even bigger thanks to Gary for organising a great race as there have been a recent lack of GT car races imo.

Those days are over m8,im a fully registered and commited Evo freak,i will want to specialise in quality GT events in Evo,hope my next event is to your liking as well, curses to not being able to make a 40+ car grid for it though .

Damn I was shaking at the end of that ... had Darren Gardner breathing down my neck for the last 10 mins and my tyres were rather "loose" by this point [see why below] ... he made a last lap go for it and nearly got there, I was kinda squirrely, but managed to block him and hold on to 7th at the line ... which for me in this car and company is quite something ...

Although before I cheer too much ... now comes an admission ...
I am rather ashamed to say that I did not read the toppost properly, nor did I catch all the stuff going on in the chat prior to starting ... just read "one pit required" so was off after that setting up pit presets.
When I came in with ~20 mins to go, tyres were still good ... so unfortunately for me I did not change any tyres during the pit stop, just did a Lightening McQueen ... just gas and go for me baby

Doing the full race distance on one set of rubbers in the Aston though, that deserves a medal doesn't it :becky:

So errrmmm ... real sorry chaps!!!
I messed up big time with this ... innocently I would like to add

Am slapping myself round the head [EDIT:HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED ], and don't worry ... I am cool with being DQ as it was my fault ... :ban:

... still enjoyed the race treeeemendously and will hopefully have time to prepare better and not be so back-footed prior to entering the race next time around (if I am allowed back )

Thanks all, great racing, very clean and fair driving from what I saw ... good job Gary and RD ... :thumb:

@ Lee

No probs m8,i think the organiser tonight was a bit of a "newjack" and probably should have done reminder announcement at the end of practice, another 10 mins of slapping yourself about the heed will negate the threat of DQ....deal? :p.
But in all honesty you probably lost out overall not getting them new tyres on!.
The whole pit idea was to get everyone used to doing pit stops,i intend to fix up lots of GT races with pit stops.
Have i mentioned im planning something big and special for my next GT event?? :p :becky:.

In my first and only planned pit stop I stopped for about 8 seconds before my pit slot. I tried to change my preset pit stop strategy because in order to finish the race I needed more fuel into my car....2 laps worth more. Didnt manage to change my settings so proceed to my pit slot and fuelled less than I needed and changed only my front tires which was another mistake.

So I joined the race in 3rd place but had to make another pit stop for more fuel. I pitted 3 laps before the end of the race but when exiting my pit slot I managed to get STOP and GO for speeding in pit lane. I was over the speed limit only for a little time but that was enough. So I had stop for 3rd time for STOP and GO penalty when race had only a few laps left. :)

peace
Jari

first of all well done Gary realy nice car choise the aston is a beast on the straits while he suffer corner speed, the beemer is the exact oposit suffers on top speed but is a beasty corner eater

*qualy* changed garys bmw set up a bit weel lock 21° front arb 100 and rear arb 50
made place 7 on the grid

*race*
had a bad start a aston got past me like a e90 burns a lancetti at the start now the first turn we are 3 wide cuz a beemer tryed to get me too
that left no space left for me so i had to run the first turn on the grass... oh well near last now i tryed realy hard to get up the grid
after 1/4 of the race i closed up to Neil G. damn this guy never lost his coolnes and i was realy hard trying on some corners there was not even room for a bloody stamp
but as he never made a mistake in the narrow part of the track i was stuck behind him
cuz on the straits he was up to 10-15 kmh faster
as i finaly managed to get past him my tyers where worked up and so i did some mistakes so he got me again so i my pitstop for fuel and 4 fresh tyers
came out on 17th and startet directly to push like nothing after a while i came up to Marcel vd Aa and Neil G., Marcel did a litle mistake i think cuz he slowed down a bit
so i used the change und set a move came clean to the apex had a bit more
to brake cuz i was on a supoptimal line so Marcel gave me a hit on the back but no damage taken
now i was chasing Neil G. again same prob again i was faster at the infield while he just outspeed me on the straits
then the first cars came to lap us and i realy tryed to use it to my advantage but
most times i had to make room at points where i will loose time while Neil got lapped
on the straits. after i closed up again Neil did a error while braking for the corner after
the backstrait, so i did, and probaly the Beemer behind me too ;D with luck my weel stayed in center position and i could go on
now i chased Neil G. down again but had to make room for Gary i think but lost not that much time and stayed in his draft at the carusel Gary got past Neil what Neil gave
a verry bad exit on the Finish strait
so finaly i could get Neil but coming on the back strait i was knowing i have to defend my position cuz Neil will come over me like nothing
so i stayed to the inside line force him to use the outside line then under brakes i looked up and slided to the left where at this point Neil was probaly that ended our both races realy sorry Neil till that point it was a realy hard and clean fight
cuz of the contact i lost it too and hit the inside barrier and the engien just died
again realy sorry Neil feel free to shoot me

[great sigh of relief from Lee] ... thx Gary :thumb:
Hope others see it from the same point of view ... as I was really nursing those tyres home come the end of 45 mins of Aston punishment ...
I imagine Darren can vouch for this

damn it! i knew this "lee" character was a dodgy one :D

everyone knows it wasn't intentional, dude... worry thee not!

These are the kind of fun nights to get pit stop problems out of your system Jari m8,for sure you had front running pace tonight, and with some pit stop magic on your side a sure thing podium or possible win as you seemed to speed up like crazy late in the stints.
Custom tracks sometimes require extra fuel,i had 80L to start and added 3L at stop and finished with 10.3L in the tank i think?,just got warning on last lap,i really liked using the preset tonight,no more of my fumbling about the arrow keys costing valueable seconds!.

that was me sorry, not a very nice way to treat my team m8. i didn`t realize i squeezed up put till i saw the replay :faint:

quali went well manged 8th :)

race: got an ok start, lost a place to a fast starting Aston, but got one back at the cost of Michael. 1st couple of laps i did some low 1:27`s but quickly my pace dropped and cars started to catch up, after an Aston got by Marcel caught me and i was struggling to hold him off, shame we hit was a good fight but thats racing.
over the next few laps people were pitting and i was back upto 6th when i came in on lap 17, stop went well, although i thought i had blown it as i went i tad over my pitbox but still got my service phewwww. front tires and fuel and i was away again but down to 9th.
spent the rest of the race chasing the clock and trying not to let the gap to Lee get to small, but kept half spinning at T3. also my back and neck were giving me jip and i was praying for the checked flag to come.
got another spot from Jari making a last minute splash and dash so finished 5th :thumb:

great nights driving, back markers did a good job to.

i would say Garys 1st event was a success, well done m8 :becky:

Welcome to another event for the Oceania Zone.

These races are primarily aimed towards our members in Australia, New Zealand, and S.E. Asia so the race times are set for that zone. However, we welcome entrants from other timezones who would like to race at this time and help us to maximize our starting grids.
The only thing we ask is that priority be given to Oceania members since they often don't get the opportunity to race other events.

For this event, we will use the Caterham CSR320 cars, but will use the Magny Cours ‘06 track.

Signups will close 1Hr before the Practice start time

it was not a bad exit, i lifted to let the lapping car through and you were quick to take advantage of it, would of done the same myself if it was me :thumb:, np with the squeeze, as they say **** happens, just a pity i collected the car behind us also, but it was fun while it lasted and we were only a few laps from the end and i was barely hanging on to the 9th place car in front of us at the time.
It was a good car/track combo as it made for some interesting racing between the two of them and i enjoyed some of the battles i had and am looking forward to the next one now.
