WRC 9 is just around the corner, and one of the new locations set to make an appearance in the game is the New Zealand Rally - with some first preview imagery from the states now out in the public domain.

Set to release on console and PC in September this year, with next gen console release slated for a little while afterwards, the ninth instalment of the WRC game series (can you believe we are on number 9 already?!?) looks to be shaping up rather nicely over at KT Racing - so much so that the studio have decided to release some preview footage from an early build version of the title - and already it looks fantastic.

As per usual, the upcoming game enjoys the official licence of the FIA World Rally Championship, this time taking the opportunity to recreate the 2020 season that is currently on hold, and as such returning favourites such as the Safari Rally in Kenya, Rally Japan and the featured Rally New Zealand.

Roads in New-Zealand are amongst the most beautiful and the most appreciated in the Championship’s history.” tells Benoît Gomes, Lead Level Designer at KT Racing.

Famous for its fast chains of turns and a sustained pace rhythm, along with breath-taking landscapes, Rally New-Zealand truly offers a particular experience. A long preparation work allowed us to replicate, as closely as possible, the luxuriant vegetation, the light and unique ocean views, as well as the road’s topography and surfaces, mainly composed of gravel. We’re convinced that players will enjoy taking up this challenge as much as we did in WRC 9.” concludes Benoît Gomes.

WRC 9 Key Features:
  • 3 new rallies: Japan, New Zealand, Kenya
  • Over 50 official teams and their livery from the WRC, WRC 2, WRC 3 and Junior WRC
  • Over 15 bonus cars that have left their mark on the history of the WRC
  • Exclusive new game modes soon to be discovered

WRC 9 will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC this September 3rd.

If you pretend there is no problem, it's just like there is no problem!

Well what is the problem exactly? it works as it should you buy a game, download it and it launches through the program. Nothing wrong with that. If you mean the way they keep getting the developers to give them exclusivity then welcome to 2020. Not like Steam never did it. But applause for the sarcastic bullcrap replies.

Like I said, there is no problem if you don't look at the problem. Problem solved! Not that there was any problem in the first place, but you know what I mean.

Interesting game but I don't want to support Epic Games and their...
“说你爱史诗游戏或死!“
Epic Games is great! I will buy this game on release for me and all my friends!

Did i say that i did want to support epic? No i was never really that keen on having another launcher to launch games through. But got convinced to buy another game that at the time was still full price on steam but on sale on epic. So i did and realised theres nothing wrong with it. It is a simple launcher and store. Isnt exactly a hardship having it open when launching the game from the desktop icon. So whats the issue? forgot we have to explain our every move on this forum lately.

I just want a modern Abarth 124 Rally.
A modern Alpine Rally also would be sweet.

Modern, beautiful and rear wheel drive! The same Lancias are great, but why not the new fun cars rallying right now?

Nacon and Kylotonn Racing Games have recently released a few new preview images from the upcoming WRC 9 - the officially licenced World Rally Championship racing title from the French development studio.

Despite Covid-19 doing much to delay the current FIA World Rally Championship in the real world, us videogame fans can still enjoy the latest season of off road rallying thanks to sim racing - with WRC 9 set to release on both console and PC this September 3rd.

With little in the way of teasers released by the developers at this point, we have finally seen some imagery from one of the new venues that was set to appear this year - the challenging Rally Japan - one of three new rallies set to appear in the game this year.
