Hi,
I have the following system
Asus A8N-VM-CSM (almost no OC possible, only FSB) max cpu X2 4800+ or Opteron 185.
4x512MB PC2700 (2x kingstond, 2x corsair, both DC) no more slots left.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.0GHz
Club3d ATI 1650Pro
Windows XP SP2
This yields in a 3dmark05 score of ~5300.
If I want I can upgrade my cpu to a dual core amd X2. The best would be to get a X2 4800+ but those are rare/expensive. I could get a X2 3800+ cheaper, but I am wondering whether it will help me much.
According to the list on http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
It should be twice as fast, which is could for cpu intensive game like Race/Gtr-E.
Will this cpu upgrade help me? I only play GTR-e and Simcity 4.
Off course I know a upgrade of MB, Core2Duo, 4850 would be a lot better, but also a lot more expensive.
Thanks.
EDIT: Added some info, was still sleeping while typing version 1.
