Whats with the cockpit mirror then?

Anyone notice that cars seem miles closer in the cockpit rear view mirror than they actually are (compared to looking back for example)?

It might just be me but i find it really off putting as i think someone is getting closer than i orginally thought and/or split times are indicating. This puts me under undue pressure and yup, i do something stupid and loose places.

Anyone else found this?

yep one of the main reasons I switched to virtual mirrors. Stops me from thinking the person behind is coming at me like a bat out of hell
