Week 3: Seriously Not Serious Club Escort V8 Challenge 2009 @ Fuji 1970

That's is based on Abdul's idea from here. I will update the first post with everyone's laptimes. Round 1 closes on Sunday The server is set with 7hours of qualies.

Server name: RACEDEPARTMENT SNSC
Password: usual club password.

Cars: Escort V8 Challenge 2009
Track: Fuji 1970[download]
Weather: Damped track

Basic rules:

• Whoever is the fastest at the end of the week picks a car to run for the following week
• Whoever finishes last picks the track for the following week.
• The 10th fastest decides the weather (dy, 10% rain, 30% rain ,etc...)
• The same person can't pick the track/car 3 weeks in a row. In the case that occurs, the 2nd line will choose the mod
• Tracks and mods have to be either game default or located in RD's download section

You should read the whole topic.. It was decided that you can tinker with setups as much as you want. LINK. Like Eric said, there's no way of enforcing that rule.. We are all driving the same car anyway and you don't get the fastest time by altering only setup in your car, the setup inside the my head is the one i would like to change..:doctor:

Hy dragos! I know that i'm nerving you, but i can't resist of asking you again for posting your hot lap. (But feel absolutely free to do so!)

I think i'll always ask faster guys, just to learn from them and their line and style. It seems this is more important than setup. Especially at fuji with it's long corners and very tricky flow, i'm very interested in others lines. I'm so curious where others set their apexes.

I don't know where to improve...

When i watched dragos' lap at Zolder i saw some ways to improve. So it's never to late to learn.

To show my driving line i upload my lap here.

Now i'm looking for next weeks combo!!!

That went rather well... An 8th place after many laps and not that good time but since I only changed tires and steering lock from default I'm more than pleased! (Werent we supposed to only drive with default?)
The Escorts are really fun to drive and im sincerely impressed by the lap times that Haba and the others got...

I put in a faster lap than is displayed, though I think you still have 8th

Wahoo! Moby Dick is back! (Would have been my next wish after the Escort:handshake
I tested it days ago on LeMans 1979 - was a blast! But no need to use this long track in this format here!

I definitely did, and it was really a good one. I'm gonna go try the 935 on the Nordschleiffe right now.

There's a version 1.1 available. Should we try that one? It's not uploaded to RD yet but it has a major updates compared to v1.0. Just check the changelog from NoGrip: Porsche 935 Mod for Race07/GTRevo V1.1

New in V 1.1:
- Amended .inccar files to add .cam file reference as it was causing a
"booted as possible cheat" in online mode.
- Adjusted rear wing drag as it wasn't doing anything at all.
Top speed is reduced slightly though, by about 5 mph.
- Adjusted antiswaybar settings to make them more realistic,
can now be set between 0cm and 3.00cm.
- Adjusted AI - reduced cornermult value in .rcd files by 0.02 to compensate
for adjustment to rear wing drag values
- Amended .cas file - removed need for collision.gmt, collision is now done by
shadow .gmt files (main shadow and rear wing (heckflugel) shadow).
- Amended FeelerFlags= line in .hdc file in an attempt to fix collision problem,
cars were able to hit rear end and pass through slightly
- Amended .tyr file, adjusted width of tires.
- Added setup for VLM LeMans 79 and 77 so that AI can reach 201 mph. on mulsanne straight.
May need to play with setup though as I can only achieve
199 mph when driving the car with same setup.
- Fixed wipers not working on GTL 76 class version of car.
- Locked off front wing as it's not generating any real drag (and didn't in real life iirc)
so it's pointless having it adjustable (don't think it was adjustable in real life either?).
- Added menu info.

EDIT: Just check the first change, looks to me that it is the biggest one as we are all playing online.. I'll upload this version to RD-downloads.
