guys, we've been driving these cars for a while now and i think we can all agree that the level of simulation presented in this game, in this car in particular, is nothing short of farcical...

i have actually driven a mini cooper s in real life and it is nothing like the way it's been presented in the game... i have no idea what the simbin developers thought they were doing or what data or experience they based the car on - but i can only firmly assume that illegal substances were consumed at great length and accuracy was only a secondary consideration - at best....

therefore, i am proposing an updated version of the car to include the following features:

* extra ffb tweaks for more realistic turning response
* more tyre smoke in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears (maybe 4th :debate: )
* increased bling on left-hand corners
* copying the grill lights from Austin Mini Cooper Racing on the PS2
* add motion blur and bloom effects whilst parked in the garage

with these changes i think we'll then be able to turn this arcade racing game into a true simulation - probably the equal of rfactor - if not, surpassing it...

i can't believe simbin would release this game pre-nerfed to pander to all those racers out there with no skill... but thankfully i am able to undo all these horrific gameplay decisions with my trusty xml editing abilities...

if you fancy racing this on friday, please let me know and i'm happy to release v3.77 - i absolutely promise that this is entirely all my own work and there's no way on earth i just took someone elses half-assed mod and repackaged it with my name on it.

or my name is not robert j goldthorpe.

RACE1:
Quali’d 7th..Happy with that and just hoped to finish in the points. After an OK start and some rubbing in the first lap, had a minor run in with S. Palmer, who came in sharp and fast, but not intentional by any means. It ended it dropping him worse than me, and after a few laps with Rob Goldthorpe closing on me, I pulled away enough and set my targets on the battle for 4/5th in front of me, closed within a second toward the end, but for the most part uneventful. 6th Place finish…Woot Woot! Fun Race though!

RACE2:
After an epic fail of a start, I was in 10th after the first lap, closed down on the pack by lap Lap 4, when R. McGregor gets put off a bit, and comes on into my front Q’panel. Unintentional, but gave me a suspension problem. L Then the epic battle with Rob Goldthorpe went down again, trading spots time and time again, all clean, some of the most fun racing I’ve ever had. Got by him for the last time in T3 of lap 12, and knew if I could just come onto the straight clean, I’d have 5th…then Murphy’s law set in, and I go wide on the last corner and Rob is on my bumper down the final straight, his front tapped my rear with about 100 yards to go, and sent me into the wall…nobody’s fault, but put be back in 6th. Thanks Rob for some memorable racing.

Thanks to RD and Yves for putting on a great show.
