I just tried out this track and it's going to be a ton of fun. Here's a learning tool for those that want to prepare for this one. I just did a fastlap and uploaded it so that you can use it to see the line, breakpoints, acceleration points and coast points.

Let me first say that I know that I am NOT the fastest guy here. I usually can ride mid pack to a bit better so don't take this as a power trip... I find that I learn tracks really fast using this tool...

If you've never used this, here's how to do it. Go to your main menu and select additional events, then do time attack and select Goldenport and your car of choice. Make sure that ghost car and raceline is turned ON.

Then go into online laps when in game.... see mine (Jarrod Keen) and download it. You will need to make sure you are sorting for STCC class to see my lap. At the time, it was the only one uploaded. My car and line will show on each of your laps so that you can use my line and breakpoints and measure yourself against my lap and improve on my lap. This is a great way to do trial and error. By that I mean you can see how your car handles different turnin points/speeds, as well as setup tweaks. This is a great tool to work on learning the speed of a track as there's a constant visual reminder of your best lap. I use the ghost to work on varying breakpoints for turns as well as tweaking setups and watching how the car handles compared to the prior setup.

My lap was 1.08.14 which I think is pretty good for me but if we get 20 drivers again with all that skill.. it may be mid pack. I think IF I nailed a lap perfect, I could squeeze another half a second or so out of this A4. I may try the Volvo to see how it performs in comparison.

Also, I put up my A4 setup online incase any of you are going to drive the audi. It's a slightly tweaked setup from the one that I got from Keith (alien) at Mallala. I'll probably work on it this week when I drive with someone that knows setups but I believe it will help a ton for you to learn the track!

I'm going to also post this on our group thread. Let me know if this is helpful or just forum fodder.

Please sign me up - this time works well for me. My problem is that I need to find time to practice - I've never driven this car before, or raced this track!

Eeek! I might be as fast as this guy ----> :fwd:

or better yet, this guy ----> :snail:

Besides, how can I pass on a race taking place on Canada Day?! :canada:

Sorry guys for this frustrating afternoon. I need to sit down and recover now.
I will post more info later today.

  • 18:30gmt: Qualification: 15mins Superpole

  • Race: ~500k or 80laps
Weather

Please read:
  • Click here to read the password and golden rules!
  • It is a VERY long endurance event. If you tend to leave an event after a minor crash, you should NOT sign up. It is for the hardcore enduro guys who can manage with the occasional "you have a suspension problem" message.
  • The event will have a broadcast as well as live timings
  • In case if we get a lot of sign ups, I will give priority to whoever finished the Nordschleife 500K:)
!!!Important!!!

We will start the race with all the participants. If you drop during warmup or while getting on the grid we WILL restart the race. We might need to do a parade lap to make sure everyone has the proper gird position (I will take care of all book keeping)

Manual Rolling Start Procedure

Please read closely.
  1. Every driver places himself on the grid as usual and waits for the red starting lights to go on and off. When the lights go off the formation lap starts; not the race!
  2. The leader starts the formation lap first and then every car simply follows him one by one.
  3. The formation lap is driven in a single line.
  4. The leader will keep the formation lap at around ~100km/h
  5. The race starts when the leader enters the final turn
  6. No passing is allowed before the start/finish line!!
  7. If you spin or go off track, you wait for the whole field to pass and rejoin at the back of the line.
  8. Sudden stops, brake tests and excessive swaying are forbidden during the formation lap

Opened to 35 signups!!!

We will use a new mod that allows up to 50 cars on the grid. However, I will limit the number of signups to 35 (doubt we will get that many).

NOTES: To avoid any issues in the pits please ONLY use MANUAL pits!! Not AUTOMATIC!! (you have been warn!!)
