  • James Cathers

ran a 1:56.8 in practice and not 10 minutes later the power goes out for 2 seconds...then it goes out for 5 minutes, by the time i get back its warmup. cherry on top of my awesome day, I give up. hope ya'll had a good race.

If the next track has to be a US track, I would vote for Watkins Glen, or Laguna Seca if it is long enough. I could also enjoy Road America, but Watkins Glen is definitely my first choice.

You are right Joao, my setup was with an 8 wing for stability in the rain. I look forward to trying yours. Thanks!

...My money is on Road America. :wink2:

I'm with this bet too... or W. Glen, we never know.

Although I too recognize that there is no way around Le Mans 77, sooner or later we will do it... and no, no 21 century chicanes version please, I want to fly at will, so 77 will do fine :wink2:

The reason why in my opinion La Mans 77 is more "mortal" than the Nordschleife (also the Nord has more driving skill in it) it's because the Porsche S's and the lack of room for error (instant engine kill) on the following turns after these S's... even the first hard S (Tertre Rouge) is somewhat a no error zone.

Thnx RD/Eric to setup another DTM race.
This time we had no full grid. Only 10 cars started the race.

Practice.
I noticed that most of the racers didn't had any experience with driving the DTM or track. So no problems to put down some good laps with seconds between the others.
The only one i was watching was James. But he missed a second at the track.

Qualify.
For some reason the Quali was set to Hotlap or superpole.
There was only one lap to give all you have.
I drove a nice 1:55:7 (not flawless)

Race.
Started on pole position and had a normal start. It was enough to enter T1 as first. And from that moment it was the lead all the race at the track.
I ended the race First place (first time, but it didn't feel like a victory!)
At the end only 5 cars made the finish. Congretz to you guys who finished.
Ohw and i had a split time of 1:45 at the number 2.

See you all next race.

I forgot to say a couple of things:

I was impressed with the turn out. I think there was only one no show - that's not bad. Also, it would be nice if people would refrain from using chat during the race. I find it very distracting when someone says thank you to one driver in a chat message that is broadcast to the entire field. Maybe a flashing of the lights afterwards would suffice?

Overall, still a great time!

I know which tracks will be Polled But i wont and Cant say. so  Asking me. :)
You are such a tease! :p

I agree that we won't get around doing a round at Le Mans, sooner or later. Also, Watkins Glen is a fair bet for the next event, as it was already a possible for this one. Laguna is to short for a enduro. Fun track though.

On another note, Eric, if you need any help getting things setup for the next round, let me know. I'd be happy to help in any way I can. :)
