That was fun - love the BMW and Donington too.

Qualified second, behind Yves who put in a sterling laptime, I couldn't nail Redgate or quite the braking for Goddards.

Race 1 - lost third off the grid to Claudio, but regained it on the exit of Redgate. Yves seemed a little understeery the first lap and I got underneath out of Coppice to pass into Goddards. Yves was quicker so I just tried to hold him off. One pass attempt backfired as he dropped two seconds back (having seen the replay now, not sure it was a pass attempt!), behind Claudio. However, he was soon back on me and for the last 5 laps were around a second apart, but he was never close enough to pass. Final lap he span through pushing hard and I won by 6 seconds.

Race 2 - Started 8th, was 7th by the exit of Redgate, 2nd by Coppice! Caught and passed Corey, Yves did the same a lap later and the duel began again! Once again I was keeping Yves around a second behind until I had a big moment entering Redgate and just recovered in time to stay ahead of Yves. A couple of laps nose to tail, until Goddards, when Yves had a big lunge down the inside, bumped me and waited for me (having perused the replay I don't think he intentionally waited for me lol, he had a bit of a tank lapper on!). The very next corner he made a mistake and I now had a 3.5 second lead. I could take things a little easier now and Yves was only slowly closing when he made another mistake on lap 10, allowing me to win by 5 seconds.

Two wins, not through pure speed, but through consistency, opportunism and good defensive driving. That calmness and control has been a long time coming for me, there were glimpses of it at Cleveland, too often I have been rash, perhaps now that consistency will happen more often.

Thanks to Yves and RD and all that turned out :)
