Rob I think there are some guys running a Dirt league at TheDSRL.com...a good bunch of guys mostly Brits.

I think people are too shy of the RallyCross side, which is the only option for simultaneous play. It's not that popular on the TV, which hurts. But the driving in car, on DiRT, is spectacular. In my opinion, Ekstrom (DTM, F3, WRX) and Loeb (GT3, 9 time WRC Champ, WRX, etc., etc., etc.) are the two best drivers in the world right now (even better than Raikkonen), and they are both in WRX. Ekstrom is not only competitive in the DTM this year, but leading the WRX standings.

P.S. OH MY GOD those Spanish girls are hot...

yeah but the rallycross gets awfully repetitive and the physics feel a bit off compared to the rally cars imo. Just not great for a championship. Leagues won't fully work on dirt rally until they add online rally stages I've concluded. The online detached leagues are ok but missing the interactive community element that was superior even in Dirt 3.you should sign up for the DSRL events though Rob, we're currently running the Escort in Finland lol

I'd have to disagree. But clearly I'm in the minority, again. You can save your wheel settings, which are quite intricate, and if you get it right, Rally Cross feels just as good as Rally. It's a bit foreign to most, I think, because those cars, in reality, are beasts. The torque is ungodly. They can out accelerate an F1 car from 0-100.

Crossover drivers, like Loeb, Ekstrom, and Scott Speed all say that RallyCross is 1000x more violent than Road Racing, and even more violent than Rally. Rally cars are, as the game presents, much more manageable.

I will grant you that it is repetitive, but until you can beat the highest setting A.I., you have room to learn.

the only difference I see is I now have Speed and Gear on my dash. Only RPM gauge works as far as that goes. At least in PCars all the info on the Motec, albeit small, was functional not fictional. There are still spots on some of the racetracks that will just throw you into an uncontrolled slide, and Wheel's from what I've seen are slower than controllers. Seems to be parity among the respected users though. Just not sure if I want to run a 50% race with a controller to be competitive.

I just had a practice in the M3 GT4, I'm struggeling to get below 1.42.5xx. Apparently the Aston GT4 should be able to hit 1.41s according to leaderboards. Are any of you getting those lap times? Are the GT4 cars really that unbalanced or are the leaderboards not a good indicator? (I just went faster than the M3 times on the leaderboards so I don't think they show the difference between the GT4 cars).

hmm the M3 might be a little slower but nothing I noticed much really. I need to practice at some point today to get a time at dubai.
Leaderboards aren't usually great for determining a car's overall pace because of all the setup changes though
