Ahead of the big VR, Bentley and Misano "EA Release 2" for ACC, Kunos Simulazioni have released a few very nice teaser images from the upcoming content release...

With only two short days left to wait for the first major content update for Assetto Corsa Competizione, Kunos Simulazioni have released a nice set of rather attractive preview images in the form of some stunning shots of the mega Bentley Continental GT3 and Misano Circuit, the two major new pieces of content set to hit ACC this October 10th.

Slightly more difficult to reflect in screenshot form, the new release scheduled for this Wednesday will also be notable for the first pass at supporting Virtual Reality (VR) in the sim - a very exciting development for ACC, and something that is sure to please quite a few of the sim racing community (myself included).

Of course this is the first update for ACC since the game deployed into the public realm via Steam Early Access back in September, and it will be interesting to see what other tweaks, improvements and features Kunos can add to an already very impressive simulation in the four weeks since it made its public debut.

It will be, start with average settings and work your way up ;)
As I agreed to other thread my GTX1070 runs well

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Best advice I got was to buy a 1080Ti ?

RTX 2080 Founders - 1199 AU + free delivery

GTX 1080Ti cheapest model my store is 1129AU + delivery and dearest is 1349

$70 dearer, come on that's a no brainier especially if you like ACC

New for new and Australia I am talking, whether cards are cheaper elsewhere is irrelevant

Manufactures models are dearer and most are clocked lower then a Founders
if you look at my site the slower RTX 2080 don't even list a Core boost simply to hide the fact they are slower boost then Founders ( 1800MHz ) while also being dearer !
You can even go to manufacturers site check the full specs you will see many don't list speed but the fast "dearer" ones will
Yes, thanks for clarifying. So over a grand is needed to make the game run properly. Ok, got it!

I understand what you are saying, but I have great memories of the Bentley gt3 in project cars, it was the only gt3 car I could lap around Nordschleife in 6.30. Okay I know it's a different game but I must say I am looking forward to the Bentley.

To each their own, drive what you like. :)
It’s just that I find this car absurd as a racing machine. :coffee:

When i had a 1060 i excepted stutters and odd hiccups but ever since getting a 1080Ti those same stutters and hiccups are just annoying so i would class ACC to run badly also as it has pretty bad frame stutters and drops even when playing at 4k Medium / High even though there is head room from both GPU and CPU !
Hopefully with coming VR update it will be a great VR experience for my PC !!

Every modern piece of software uses Victorian technology.
Microsoft still has code from the 16-bit era.
VALVe's Source Engine is an evolution forked from GoldSrc, which in itself is an evolution from the Quake Engine.
And I bet Kunos still has some code from the NetKarPro era in AC.

If you think developers are wasting time re-inventing the wheel and re-writing code and coming up with new solutions on each release then you know nothing about software development.

Besides, that victorian-era code was demonstrably already extremely accurate in 2005, 13 years before anything "new and flashy" by Kunos which released a "sim" that you cannot take seriously and is flawed to the core in many, many ways.
So trying to put it down just because it's old serves no purpose, really.

And I'm not putting AC down, I think it's a great game and everyone should buy it. Every game is brilliant in some ways and sucks in many others. While the simulation aspect of AC is flawed, Kunos was brilliant enough to develop an in-house engine (something which they know makes no sense these days) that looks and performs really well, and released a game which is one of the best racing titles out there. I particularly praise them for the openness for modding, the availability of documentation for modders, and the concept of using UI "Apps" which are also completely customizable.
But also, I have to praise them for not making us feel ripped off by their DLC's. Sure, I do think that requiring users to buy entire packs to join races they should be able to do with just one car is kinda greedy, but still the price vs content ratio is perhaps the best out there, something other companies should take note (I'm looking at you, Marcel Offermans).
I think using the unreal engine for ACC was a huge mistake. But.... we'll see how it progresses.

I am not at all PC specialist or nvidia commercial, but it seems to me that the Gsync function plays a big role in my case.
The gaming experience is the same to me, with 60 or 120 fps.
I don't think that I have observed these stutter problem until now.
The game are always very smooth at all fps. I appreciate that a lot I must say, and I am pretty sure that the Gsync as something to do with that. (but I may be wrong)

I always answer at off topic thing. Sorry for that !
Back to topic.
The bentley is a monster. I have seen a "road" one recently, and it is so huge that I would never had the idea to put it on the track.
But I personally love the idea and I will for sure enjoy to give it a try.
It is a good choice from kunos not to make available all the "best" cars immediately". It retains the attention more until the end.

This is what I'm thinking of upgrading to
GTX 1080ti around the £650 range
AMD Ryzen 7 2700 16 cores around £250
X470 AM4 Board around £120
16 GB Ram around £110
Would appreciate some opinions, or even suggestions for a cheaper upgrade without compromising on what I believe would qualify as a relatively high end spec.

Make sure that your ram is 3200mhz or better. Ryzen 7nm (3xxx series) is Q1 2019 and it will need faster ram. Better to pay a little more and only once than have to upgrade ram twice. Everything else is fine and a x470 is Ryzen 7nm compatible.

I have the 1060 GTX and it runs very poorly. Graphically, the game def has issues. I'm hoping they get sorted or the game will be useless for me. All other sims work perfectly, but there's something going on with optimization in ACC. Time will tell.
Interesting... than must be the CPU and/or the RAM. I have a Ryzen 5 1600X and 16GB RAM.

CPU is i7 6800 and I also have 16GB of RAM. Why would it be these things anyway as I stated that all other games run perfectly fine? Once ACC came along, now I have problems running this game only. Clearly it needs work. But some cards work better than others right now. Like some wheels. So, time will tell.

Guys did you know if trackIR or similar devices (edtracker pro, etc etc) are supported?
No not in build 1. Might do in build 2, assume would need to run the game in Steam VR mode like with PCars 2. Not sure which camera mode head tracking would function in though, might be helmet cam with the camera moved forward or something, will need to check it...

Thanks for that, had actually chosen 2400mhz can get 3200 for £140. could I get away with less i.e 8gb or 12gb of Ram?
Also the CPU is 8 cores, the 16 refers to number of threads

My ignorance: on which kind of systems usually new games are being developed?

It wouldn't be wise for a software house to design a game based on ultra-high-end machines performance, right?…

I mean, just trying to think rationally, if Kunos is releasing a VR functionality for ACC they must be confident it could be playable at least by 40/50% of their current customers, right?
