What happened is that Jann Mardenboroughs Nissan flipped over the catch fence at post 80 at the Flugplatz section.

One spectator died on the way to hospital, others were injured. The driver is shaken, but ok.

Saw this posted on Jalopnik earlier as they were following the events closely. Pretty sad affair and freak accident. I haven't seen a car lift it's nose off Flugplatz that high in eons. Nobody could have anticipated that barrier flipping a car over the catch fence like that.

Maybe, it's not that many years another GT3 car climbed over the tyrebarriers there, and as seen at Brands some years ago, even an MR2 can break the catch-fencing.
