Here's an extraordinary video from the early 1990s proving just how challenging the old Austrian Grand Prix circuit could be, especially in wet conditions.
Years before F1 returned to Austria at the A1-Ring (now the Red Bull Ring), European and national series continued to use the longer, faster Österreichring before it was rebuilt in 1995. This touring car series was one of them, and in the wet the drivers don't have much grip going into the Hella Licht chicane just after the lap's opening climb. The result is chaos involving roughly a dozen cars...
