Sebastian Vettel says Lewis Hamilton ‘must have found a short-cut’ at Silverstone after storming to pole position at the British Grand Prix.

Hamilton will start on the front of the grid for his home GP after his scintillating performance in qualifying, in which he did a 1:29.607 lap.

His Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg was nearly half a second behind, while Vettel was even further back in third place.

And, speaking after the race, the Red Bull driver said Hamilton must have found a shorter route to everybody else in order to have set such a quick time.

‘It was a phenomenal lap, I don’t know if Lewis found a short-cut or he just found something special.’ said Vettel after Qualifying.

The catty comment highlights the pressure at the top of the leaderboard, with Hamilton just 55 points behind leader Vettel.

Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso are also applying pressure, so a strong performance at Silverstone is crucial.

All drivers will be hoping for a reprieve from the rain in Northamptonshire, with mixed weather expected for Sunday’s race.

He has guts enough to admit it while someone else is putting all of his success down to his car... and i hope they continue to do that...cause chances will be greater for Vettel to win his 4th title.
