Warwick Farm Bash

Let's do it all again in these classic cars. This time we move down under, to my home country, Australia. So we have an Aussie theme this time. We continue the aim of appealling to the old GTL fans, but also to our newer people to this sim, and have more fun where people can try out a few different car choices.
This will be a another relaxed event, with the focus on having some fun driving these classic, marque cars, rather than a serious competitive event. So get your jackie howe singlets, thongs, akubra hats out and mix with the shiela's at Warwick Farm, a former historic track near Sydney.

Crikey, even Steve Irwin will be watching from heaven, crocodile at the ready for anyone suspected of taking things too seriously.

This will be just for fun. We will hold two 15 lap sprint style races, one race in class, TC 65, and then GTC 76. You can choose any car you want from the default selection for each class, except for the following restrictions:

1. De Tomasso Pantera is not allowed
2. You must pick a different car to the one you used at Goodwood.

We really want to see a big variety of cars for this, so let’s try to avoid everyone driving the fastest car, and try to mix the grid.
Have a look at the car choices of those already signed up, and choose something different.

Please join the spirit of this event, it is not about winning.
Anyone even suspected of trying too hard will be fed by Steve to his croc.

In the spirit of Goodwood, we will have some Steve Irwin memorial awards to honour the great Aussie larrikan.

eg. Best drifting , most spectacular crash, bravest car choice, mystery place in each event, great driving in a slower car, you know the drill by now.

We highly recommend the use of Teamspeak for this event, it will add greatly to the fun and spirit of this event.

I made a skin for this series.
A fanatasy quicky, but looks quite "real".

Did some laps.. Came up with 1.49ers
With the standard setup.
Must say its a bit narrow for 25 extra wide cars.
Should give some nice fireworks at the start.

PS..
Quite a lame conversion of a great track.
Looks like a DX7 version, has some small graphical glitches.
AI is seriously bad, so no fun at all to test/race with them.

I suppose, Eric... I mean, I'm still learning the track! I don't think I'd be able to do better than a 1:48 at the moment.

The only reason I said that is because I am one of the back markers and only after about 5 laps I did a 1'49.2. I will practice a little more later on, but I would expect the very fast guy to be at least 2~3s faster by lap.

A couple of lonely races for me but at least i managed to finish :)

Race 2 was fun only changing two tyres and getting the worn tyres message after 20 laps on the rear making corners very exciting LOL.

Sorry to Pat though when you came to lap and i had drifted to much causing you to run off, although it did not seem to cause you to much time.

First time i had drove the Volvo S60 and found it revs pretty quick so kept missing the gear change LOL, but throughly enjoyed the event :)

Where did everyone go though in the feature race, i think only 9 or 10 of us where there at the end out of 20 ?????
