Valve Index Grey Outs / Hardware crashes

Hi i have a valve index headset. I use it with acc/steam vr. It greys out after about 40 mins of running. I’ve tried different usb ports. Moving the layout ot the room around. Using one or two base stations. And still the same. Is there some software that can sniff out hardware faults or work out what is causing the grey/black outs so this can be fixes. I’ve moved the normal monitor. Turn pff the lights. I had a go with fan a while back and that helped but did not fix the problem. If only there was something that could pinpoint the problem then it can be fixed. But otherwise its just guessing. Any help gratefully received.
