Let's fill up the grid! You can ask other drivers to practice or race with you by using the tag function of the forum. Just type an @ directly followed by the user name and this person will receive a notification.

Our racing clubs are foremost meant to gain online experience so please help other drivers out when they have questions about the event, the car, the track, the setup or a combination. This is not a league race, it's for some fun, so please join us on TeamSpeak and build a little community spirit!

Priority Access
In case of a large amount of sign-ups premium members are given priority access to enter this event. Premium members please sign up at least 24 hours in advance to be given priority; I won't kick a non-premium member off the list if your sign up is very late. Don't forget Licensed memberships are being phased out.

When we've had some smaller races for people to get used to them, we can try longer multi-class races in the club.

Notes on Multi-Class Racing
  • We will have a rolling start.
  • Blue flag: signals a faster car is behind you. Caution is required, but moving over is not.
  • The faster car is expected to look for a sensible passing opportunity. They are responsible for initiating a safe pass, but the slower car is equally as responsible for allowing an overtake to occur safely. Stay on the racing line, leaving plenty of room for the overtaking car, and do not make sudden / unexpected movements.
  • When lapping: straights are preferred over corners; corner exits are preferred over corner entries.
  • Be patient and wait for a clear opportunity to get past slower traffic. No dive bombs just because you can brake later. When someone has started turning in, they are committed to that racing line.
  • If you disadvantage a driver from another class, you are still expected to wait!

Race Notes
Do not be a moron and crash people out on lap 1. This is a 78 lap race. Conduct yourselves appropriately (and remember this is a club race and should be raced in that spirit). I will come down hard on sloppy over-aggressive racing by handing out race suspensions (yes, you can still be banned even as a Premium member if you break our racing rules). People spend time practising and preparing for a race, they don't need to be taken out by a low percentage move. I am saying this very clearly and frankly so there is no confusion and to avoid a repeat of the aggression we saw in our recent V8 event. If you want longer races like this, please keep this in mind.

On the pit exit, check your mirrors. Traffic on the track have priority over you re-entering. Additionally, I recommend doing a little practice with a grid of AI cars for a few laps; it is very different from hot lapping and the experience of running in packs of cars will help keep the event clean and fun for everyone.

Although written for the Formula Vees, the Pit Stop Guide here may be useful if you are unfamiliar with pitting.

Schedule
RENTAL KARTS
Interlagos 1
Practice:
19:00 GMT
Quali 1: 19:10 GMT - 5 minutes, super-pole (one out lap, one hot lap, one in lap).
Warmup 1: 19:15 GMT - 3 minutes

Race: 19:20 GMT - 10 minutes each.
Note: I will set the server to 3 race sessions. I believe this makes reverse grid for race 2, then the top so many go to a third final round. It might work, it might not, we'll see what happens and have fun anyway. Then I can know for sure for future events.

DIRECT DRIVE KARTS
We can repeat the process in the Direct Drive Karts. I estimate the start time for the second round quali at 20:00 GMT.

Don't forget all the Mini's have launch control, assign a button to it.
  1. On the start line push the button and hold it (you will see it engages 1st gear)
  2. Press the gas to the max!
  3. Wait for the start and release the button and you're off. Zooooom away.
  4. Change to 2nd gear as normal and carry on up the gear box.
