Upgrading my graphic card

Hello guys,

Lately i've encountered some fps problems during the racing club races. I haven't checked my fps but I could feel it wasn't optimal. I've been thinking about upgrading it to a HD 7870 or a GTX 760.

DUring the imola race, it was very hard do drive solid laps due to my fps problems. Yesterday when I raced on Mugello it was getting better (not sure why) but it still wasn't perfect.

I know the game hasn't been released and I don't know if we will get any optimalization patches regarding fps gain, but I'd like to know if anyone has a HD 7870 or a GTX 760 and what fps(settings) they get racing online! I don't care about fps in SP, cuz I can run SP on high settings with 60-65 fps. Its just MP causing the fps problems.

Also, what would u guys do, since the full game hasn't been released and maybe an upgrade isn't necessary.

Last thing: On AC's website, the HD7870 is recommended for recommended settings. What does ''recommended settings'' mean? Does that mean I can run High settings with 1920x1080 res in MP?

Thanks in advance,
Sander

So you are getting between 42-60 fps on 3980x1024 resolution?
Or are u using a different res in-game?

Exactly between 42 and 60 this is average... on some tracks doesnt go below 55 on others i got for short times on pit exit 37-38 fps but just for a fraction of a second.
The ressolution i use is what i have in my signature...why would i lie hehehe

EDIT*You can read it all here and its full of pictures :D

I'm running a GTX760 at 1080p single screen. I have 4xAA, 4xAF, max world detail, max shadows, low reflections (3 faces), and I"m using 2x sparse grid transparency supersampling AA via Nvidia Inspector. Result looks great. I get 100-130fps hot lapping, 60-90fps racing AI fields up to 20 cars, with dips into the 50's on the starting grid.

For larger fields I'd have to compromise visual quality slightly, but there's plenty of room to do that.

If you want max graphics including high AA, AF and more sparse grid to eliminate jaggies completely at 1080p then you'd probably want a GTX770/780.
