TVR assessing Le Mans return

It seems that TVR might be in the running to return to Le Mans after a decade long absence according to the company’s owner Les Edgar.

Edgar was quoted as saying that ‘Le Mans has to be a sensible target… We could do a GT3 car, but whatever we do it would be some kind of GT car, because we want people to be able to relate our racing to the TVRs that they can buy for the road.’

No timescale has yet been placed on the possibility of a return for TVR, with Edgar himself admitting that the companies ‘racing plans have to play second fiddle to our road car program’. However Edgar’s experience, especially the part he played in bringing Aston Martin back to sports cars, means this is a story to keep an eye on in the coming months.

TVR recently acquired a new development centre previously used by the GTC Competition McLaren, Lister and Sebah/Rebellion Racing teams but have not produced any cars since 2006. But with Edgar’s backing new models are allegedly on the way.

That's great to read, even more GT3 race cars, yummy! haha

Always been a fan of TVR would love to own one even for a few years (until my bank card melts) but being in Guernsey means getting parts and service would be a bit of a problem!

Well the hell was I when they stopped being owned by that Russian? Fantastic to hear that they are alive and kicking again, would be awesome to see them in GTs again
