General trying to change the colour of the headlight withaint.net

hey everyone im trying to change the colour of the headlight to a red tint but then the light do not shine . im using paint.net does anyone know how to doo it or if it is possible?

I don't know but when i use Photofiltre i make new colored layer and change the opacity
