Triple Screen

Hey Guys,
I want to upgrade to Triple Screen. Now my question is can a gforce 1070 handle a Triple Screen?
How many FPS can i expecting from sim racing titles like ACC and iRacing ?

Thanks for your Help

i5 6600k , gtx980ti, triple 144hz monitors, full field of 24 AI, start line, 90 odd FPS, quite often saw 144hz.
Needs careful planing on the settings for AC, this is obviously the game I am referring too, if my memory serves me it was better in rfactor2, and I do not mean dumbed down graphics.
On line always north of 100 FPS.:)

i have a i7 6700k and the gforce 1070. Its pretty dump when im now spending a lot of money for two more monitors and then i have very low fps. Thats the Problem now. But when you have 100 fps stable with the gtx 980ti and the i5 6600k then it works for me i think:)

Are you looking at 1080 or 1440 monitors?
Also, check that your card has 3 display ports, or you will be restricted to 60Hz if using a mix of DP and HDMI.

For good triple screen performance without turning down settings, you'll want at least a 1080 and preferably a 1080ti with 1080p monitors.

Available ports and resolution make a difference here, I have been running 1440p and 1070 in SLI and the performance is not ok (for me). For 1080p it might be. Internal benchmark:

(on older i7 4x cfg, 1070 SLI)
FPS: AVG=86 MIN=58 MAX=177 VARIANCE=0 CPU=37%
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (7680x1440)

1080TI SLI (my current setup, different mb, i7 9x)
FPS: AVG=206 MIN=55 MAX=276 VARIANCE=13 CPU=88%
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (7680x1440)

Above gives solid 100fps in game most of the time in AC and rF2.

My point here is if going 1440p, 1070 will not perform to today standards, still ports are important as well as HDMI is 60Hz only if card don't have 3 dp ports.

ACC does not support proper triple screen rendering and 1070 is not good enough for 5760x1080 in that game either. You will have to reduce graphics settings to maintain 60 fps in traffic

i would say 1070 vs 980ti, similar , are you going to use 60 Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz monitors.
have you clocked your 6700k, faster ram is also a big help if you are pushing for 144Hz monitors.
ACC you will struggle with your 1070 and the 6700k will be pushed somewhat, unless you
go for 60Hz then both should be ok for ACC.

This part about RAM caught my eye. Sorry for piggybacking on this thread.

I currently have a 1080p 60Hz triple setup, but I just ordered some 1080p 144Hz freesync monitors to upgrade (tired of tearing or vsync issues and want silky smooth framerates :D). My current ram is 16GB (2x8GB) of 3000mhz DDR4 with C15 latency...Is it worth the upgrade to jump to 4133mhz ram C19 latency? That’s the highest supported for my motherboard (ASUS Maximus X Hero).

Running an i7 8700K @ 5.0 GHz and a overlocked RTX 2080. I currently get about 120 FPS average in AC (benchmark on maximum) and about 75 FPS average in ACC (in dry weather full grid, mostly med-high settings). Not on iRacing anymore but I would normally get about 80 - 100+ FPS average.

@johndough247

i only have my experience on this, i have been told latency is the important bit, no personal
experience of experimenting with that. i cannot comment on ACC

the below is for my single 3440 x 1440 monitor, shocked by the fact that even though i was pushing
a lot less pixels, the FPS was just as difficult to stabilise as was my 144hz triples.
In fact i found matching FPS to triples, about the same.

gtx 1080
3440 x 1440 monitor
i5 6600k 4.7Ghz

bench mark:-

Av 214 Min 127 Max 273 Cpu 88%
Points 31438
Ram @ 2666 Mhz

As above with Ram at 3600
AV 245 Min 89 Max 297
Points 35969

pretty sure my latency was the same at 3600, C15

i have found that having a good system, yours is much better than mine does not mean you
can be cavalier in your approach to settings with triple monitors.
with triples, especially, i had to trim back every thing to the bare essentials, absolutely minimal
apps running, make sure that Nvidia inspector is not adding anything to your AC settings.
I ran with no PP setting, finally from my point of view when racing, it did not add anything to
the experience.
Shadows min, reflections at high, but frequency static, 16x world detail high, 4x, smoke low.

i think if memory serves me correctly, i got about 10 Fps gain from my memory clock.

Forgive my memory on this, but i do know, it was a matter of carefully examining every small
detail, and nit picking at the FPS until i had got it at the best i could from my setup.
Unfortunately i do not record my findings, So i just forget most of it.

Ps, you can mess with Nvidia inspector settings for the monitor to get a better picture to
compensate for no PP in game.

I run triple Aorus 1440p 144hz monitors on a 1080ti and 5960X OC to 4.5GHz absolutely fine. Most sims I can run very high settings, maybe some things need to be turned down from ultra but you very rarely see the difference from Very High to Ultra anyway. AC normally around 120fps full grid, iRacing about 80 during racing full grid (depending on the circuit) PC2 around 80-100fps full grid, RF2 upwards of 100fps full grid.

Curious about those PC2 and RF2 settings if you're getting those FPS at triple 1440p resolution. Maybe I have mine set too high.

Sure thing, i'll take some screenshots of my settings page and upload today. Just RF2 and PC2? There are occasions where FPS will absolutely tank. Any rain on a circuit or transitions from night to dawn and evening to dusk seem to murder perf, I get dips to around 60 then but normally the field is spread out at that point so it's still more than playable. But then there are occasions where FPS rocket upward of 100fps, usually when the field spreads out and you're essentially blasting around with only a few cars around you. I just took the average figures as I've always got my overlays up so pretty much know the perf of by heart.

ok, just took a few of PC2 quickly for you. No idea why the right screen looks like that, never took a screenshot on triple monitors before, it isn't like that in the game that's for sure lol. Click on them for the full size so you can see properly. Maybe someone could help me out taking pics of just the centre screen lol instead of the full 7680x1440 res. Also to note, I'm even running the CPU 400mhz slower than usual as it's summer and hot hot hot in my room lol, so add on another 4 or 5 frames.

And RF2.

click for big one to see overlay :)

90fps lowest I could screenshot full grid at start. Obviously as things stretch out FPS increase to between 100fps and 120fps.

Very cool screenshots! I hope its ok I used one in a little app I am building to visualise multi-screen layouts. https://muscled.glitch.me/
