To everyone frustrated with the blurriness...

...ReShade is your friend, and probably should have been already. This slick repackaging of what used to be known as SweetFX works wonders. Turn on any of the multiple 'sharpening' features and you can eliminate most of the blurriness. I'm using AdaptiveSharpen, one of the generally more power-hungry features, and as an example, I only lost 3 FPS on my triple-screen setup (47 to 44 FPS).

Definitely worth a try if you don't like the blurriness. In AC I was able to get an absolutely razor-sharp image. Haven't quite been able to achieve that in ACC yet, but it's definitely a big improvement.

The game is still a blurry mess. AC 1 looks way better, sharper and more detailed on my 48" TV.

ACC looks just horrible on my Setup.
I just bought a new computer and it didn't help at all.

Ryzen 7 2700x
16GB DDR4 3200 CL14
1 TB Samsung EVO SSD
GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Even on this PC it runs and looks like crap. On ultra settings it looks completely washed out and extremely blurry. All texture details are lost.

Unreal engine is not useable for racing simulation.
I disagree ! ACC looks pretty nice in 4k Ultra , better than AC for sure but VR is the real question for me ;)

Well, I can tell you guys, the UE4 engine.ini tweak combined with ReShade's LumaSharpen and HighPassSharpen does miracles, I can SEE AGAIN! :)
To anyone hesitating to try these out - do not hesitate.

Huge thanks to everybody, who contributed to this!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
What are the values you use for the ReShade filters and the engine.ini tweak? I only use Lumasharpen at 1.2 atm and it already looks pretty neat, but I'm always on the lookout for pointers :)

From 0.2 release notes:

- Added sharpness option to video settings (make sure you remove external workarounds)

So does this mean that the ones like me that added those extra lines on Engine.ini should delete them now?

@Jason Mullin I use ReShade with Lumasharpen and quite moderate settings. But I play around from time to time. Within this filter setting, there is an options box. When ticked, it shows you a gray image with only sharpening effects visible (Sorry, dunno the correct naming atm, not a tech specialist). It helps me not to "over sharpen" the image.
In ACC I dialed the resolution scale back down to 80% (had 100% before) and left the Advanced Sharpener untouched (off).

Quite pleased with the result, not too blurry, not too sharp and literally no FPS impact.

I'm on a i5-6600K (will upgrade here soon), GTX 1070 and 49" ultrawide (1080p vertical).

Reshade definitely helps!

I’m using LumaSharpen and HighPassSharp both on default settings.
What settings are you guys running in reshade and in game? Would like to fine tune a bit more.
PC is i5-8400/2060 super.
I use the default settings, but I also use more filters in addition to LumaSharpen and HighPassSharp.
Namely, Adaptive Sharpen, which is by far the most agressive, and FidelityFX CAS, which has to be added manualy as it's not part of ReShade officially.
I also use Clarity, which further enhances the image, and I have disabled DOF.

Otherwise, you should just experiment with the settings, so that you can find the image that suits you best, because it's a subjective thing. :)

Also installed ReShade on my new computer build this weekend and I remember the key to bring up the ReShade menu should be the "Pos1" or "Home" key (depending on your keyboard layout).
Thanks. Yeah, it currently says 'Home' (Reshade 4.2.2), but I can't activate it. Might be my Logi k740, I have to press Function-F3 for Home, maybe why it won't work. What key is Pos1?

What key is Pos1?

I don’t know I’m now getting a better image just using the new image sharpening Nvidia feature.
The new image sharpening tool by Nvidia is really great. Now I'm using it together with Reshade.

Thanks, yeah, Home (have to check why my Logi k730’s Home doesnt work as it should. What sharpen settings have you found sufficient? Think it also has some film grain (forgot term, not in my PC) setting with it?

Cool, thanks. Any suggestions to remove screen tearing (triples @ 60Hz)? VSync doesn't help.
Beside Vsync nope :notworthy: I'm using the Vsync of Nvidia instead of the ingame one. I don't know your PC but if your rig is able to stay above 60 FPS there should be no tearing.
What I've noticed:
When the scenery is moving fast while turning the environment (especially trees) seems to be becomes sharp just after the movement stops. This delay basically looks like some kind of screen tearing but is not. I don't find a solution so far to eliminate this. I'm on an I9-9900k and a GTX 1070.

I see, I'll try turning vsync on in NVidia and off in-game. I'll check my running FPS, but with the in-game FPS, it doesn't go below 60. Tearing is so bad in Paul Ricard, but seemed ok in Silverstone. (1080Ti, i7-8700k)

One more thing, any other settings in NVidia you set from default? TIA.
