F1 2010 The Game (Codemasters)
Time Trial Week #11 Sao Paulo, Brazil, (Wet)

Hey everyone,

Welcome to time trial week.

Post your times for the weekly track competition here

This weeks track is Sao Paulo, Brazil (Wet)

You must upload evidence in the form of a screenshot (PC)/ photo (Ps3/360) of the leaderboard with your gamertag showing. This is because we cannot verify leaderboard results easily over the 3 platforms.

The leaderboard also shows whether assists are used or not, wheras in game photos of times do not, so will not count.

So basically you can put in as many laps as possible and your best can be posted here:

The closing day for this thread and results for times is Monday 17th January at 9pm (UK Time)

The race settings are as follows

Dynamic Racing Line: Off
TCS: Off
ABS: Off
Gears: Manual

I needed to ellaborate on this as there are a few people who are putting up times with aids on and these times will not count.

Cheers Peeps and enjoy

Rules:
- upload your picture to www.tinypic.com (or make a nice video)
- post your picture here at the forum
- don't upload pictures directly to the forum
- take a screenshot with your best time showing or of the ranks
- no driving aids are allowed
- mention if you did your time on a PC, xbox or ps3

@Mutant ok ive found your problem its the corners :p

So Turn 4 earlier on the power (Dont be afraid of it sliding)
Turn 6 wider line and brake sooner hit the apex of the first curb and if possible ride the second curb you should get full throttle through the whole corner and use the last curb on the left for more turn in to cut across the curb at 8
Turn 9 you should be able to get round there a little quicker if im thinking your using a little more front wing than me just needs to be tighter, is a tricky one to get the speed correct without overshooting.
Turn 12 the last one seems to be very slow on the accelerating I think I pull out something in the region of 3/10ths and thats just through the corner by the finish line id hate to think how much you could pull back. (Its 2nd gear hitting the apex of the inner curb and 3rd just after you get to the outside curb)

OK well I got myself out of my pit early this morning so I could get some track time before the TV got taken over and other weekend stuff got in the way. Did about 10 laps with my 1:11.557 setup and got close to an improvement but still was lacking that little bit of speed to get me over the hump so swapped to a lower downforce (2/1 wings) and had another bash. Using me ol' buddy Mike's ghost we were neck and neck for several laps and then I thought I had broken into the 1:10's with one lap where I was sure I crossed the line ahead only to check the time to find I had clocked a 1:11.157.... 1,000th adrift of Mike!! Us guys at the back are certainly getting some close times and it's exciting as hell when you are on that quick lap with the ghost either just with you or just behind!!

Anyway after a couple more attempts I decided it was time to check the gearing as I felt I was struggling to hit top speed so dropped the higher gears by a couple of notches and immediately noticed the difference. Took a few laps to re-adjust my braking points slightly with the higher speeds and then on my 22nd lap of the morning I finally reached nirvanna *lol* 1:10.953 WOOHOO!!!! Was I happy... I crossed the line, did a little mental jig around the room and put my car onto the grass and into the barrier at the first turn *lol* :D

A quick return to the paddock so I could record some replays of the lap on my phone and then quit to the Leaderboard hoping that my time was there and the missing time bug hadn't robbed me again.... It was.. relief!!!! A quick snap and upload to Photobucket and all was done. Boy ain't it mad that a game can make you so happy *lol*

@Mike I think I will load your ghost again later and just run a few laps following as close as I can behind the battle of our two gosts as we were so close for almost the whole lap it would be great to watch. I changed my entry slightly to turn 1 and got a good leap on you coming out of 3 before pulling away along that straight. You closed it through 4 and I kept ahead through 6 and 7 before turn 8 where I had been losing time to you but found you can cut that one far more than most and then had a decent run through 7-11 and then just had to keep calm at 12 where I knew if I got it right and was ahead or fractionally behind after that I would pull away on the run to the line.

I think I finally got ahead for good at turn 8 and then kept it together enough to hold it to the line...

More than happy with the mornings progress... an improvement of 6 tenths and there's still some time to be had I am sure but my target was a 1:10 and that's in the bag so I can rest easy now :)

Will upload the lap at some point as would love to hear some tips from anyone who cares to offer them.

It's gonna be a good day today :)

:party::banana::parrot::bang: :woot::roflol: CONGRATULATIONS PETE

i've just got home (somewhat hungover) an i'm chuffed to bits for ya, If anyone deserved to break that 110 it was most certainly you :hammer: tho i also think you deserve credit for the length an quality of your posts lol, gotta pick my boy up in a couple of hours an would've got straight down to business but the need isn't so great now an will enjoy a rest/recovery an throw myself at it tomoro, so you can wallow in your sub 1.11 glory some more LMAO,

OK thats the niceties over you swine lol, you may have won the BATTLE but i shall win the WAR MMWAHAHAHAHA

Note to self, No more drunken socialising for me :drink:

Cheers Mike, your comments are much appreciated, glad my posts are thought of so highly haha.. but I fully expect you to be there with me in the 1:11's before the weekends out :)

I'm off shortly for something completely different.. dropping the little'un off to her sisters and fiance and then me and the missus are off to the London Coliseum to see Romeo and Juliet... not sure what to expect really but I hope it's better than Haye and Harrison from a few weeks back *lol*

Catch up with ya'll later

Thanks Anderw for advice mate, first of all i don't like to race against any ghost cars. Ghost cars just distract me big time, i just pay too much attention to ghost car and keep missing my breaking points.

This is my first time that i am driving without any assists so naturally i am bit tentative to apply too much throttle on certain parts of the tracks as you mentioned . This is learing curve for me to drive without assists and i do appreciate your help mate.

Hey devils, great job mate, that's fantastic progress in such a short space of time with no assists
:D.No need for any apologies, although we all are competitive we are also very supportive and pleased to see each other do well. You've put in a lot if laps and worked hard to improve.

After my own success in getting into the 1:10's yesteday morning I haven't had any more time to get back on track. May get some time tonight but with the NFL playoffs on the box I may be done for this one.... but we'll see, the pull of that steering wheel sat in the corner is hard to resist *lol*

Well done again pal..... but keep looking over your shoulder, I might be on my way past haha

@Peter - if i can push you to shave a few 10th off then ace! But, i think i may have found my limitations on this one (ability & patience!) even if you get chance and put in a quicker lap. Brazil was my bogey track till now, so i now know it pretty well too. There is obviously more speed there, but i am not able to apply it.
Just to mix things up, ive been doing some online races also unassisted. I think i am a lot more competitive now, even winning a few races, and narrowly missing a few victories due to spinning out which hopefully i can sort out with a bit more practice.
Once i find my feet, think i will go for some licenced races.

Come on guys one last push, you are all obviously holding back to surpise each other cant wait to see those times drop a few seconds.

Unfortunately since we are all holding back I wont get any more laps in for that special 1:04 lap time due to some git knocking me off the top spot in Melbourne Wet so ill be there till the next TT is issued.

Oh yeah and dont get confused by the leaderboard now ive changed my gamer tag to my real name.

@Andrew good luck in claiming back that Melbourne top spot..... as for us finding a few seconds.... I don't think we'll be shaving that much time off any time soon *lol* but a few tenths is definitely possible. Going to try to get an hour in tonight so we'll see.

@Devils I felt that way about reaching my limits the other day too but a rest and a fresh session can do wonders you know : )

Still waiting to see if Mike can make it into the 10's and was hoping to see Graham back amongst us this weekend......

Nice job Andrew.... knew they wouldn't keep you off the top step for long; ).

That's tough on you Wekkie.... always frustrating when your hard work andefforts are negated by a problem like that. But at least you know its in you to get it....

Managed to get on for an hour and a half and put in some decent laps again. There or there abouts for a good few laps and twice screwed up definite improvements at turn 12 in my final runs but decided to give myself one final lap before shutting down for the night and pulled out a nice little improvement to 1:10.724.... just over two tenths ahead of my best and a five hundredths in front of Devils nice time earlier today.... sorry mate, time for me to check over my shoulder again ;)

My improvement this time came from dropping down to 2nd gear for turn 4 where I had been losing time all evening until doing this, I was just constantly running wide there when taking it in 3rd. I am guessing the quickies take this turn in 3rd but I was losing speed there doing that so any advice would be appreciated for if I get another chance tomorrow.

Mike was already on when I started and still going when I came off so he's giving it a good go tonigh. Fingers crossed that he makes the jump into the 1:10 class with his latest efforts :)

I'll check back during the evening to see if there's any update from anyone while watching the NFL Playoffs.

Cheers all and good luck.
