Things Are Happening at Reiza Studios

Silence isn't always golden, and the silence from Reiza Studios has been deafening recently... leading many to remain curious as to what is happening behind the scenes..

As usual, the popular Brazilian team have been hard at work adding yet more goodness to both the venerable Automobilista title and the upcoming 'Reiza Pack' rFactor 2 DLC, however it looks like the level of work and time it will take to make everything happen has been a bit underestimated by Reiza, leading head man Renato Simioni to re evaluate just when things are likely to appear in the public domain. If recent form is anything to go by, I'm sure the wait will be more than worth it...

Taking to the Reiza forums today, Renato had the following update to give fans eager to know what is upcoming in the near future:

I understand and apologise that our communication hasn´t been the best lately, and our time estimates even less including the initial post...

Historically silence from us is not the sign of things stopping but rather too much stuff going on with a bit of uncertainty, and that´s the case again here including a couple of big developments since this topic was created.

With that said and without going too far making premature announcements, here is what you can surely expect in the very short term (3 weeks max):

  • A new Automobilista update
  • Announcing a new partnership that will bring free new (previously unforecasted) cars to AMS before the end of the year
  • Announcing new official AMS competition
  • Release of rF2 Bundle
And there is more still to come before the year wraps, but we´ll get to that once we´re through with the above..
Good news for AMS fans, good news for rF2 fans and frankly good news for sim racing in general.

The next three weeks should be pretty exciting times indeed!

The only update Automibilista needs imo is VR. Different weather conditions (although not dynamic) would be great but would kill all the additionnal tracks and cars from the modding community (and there are many of them).

Would be nice to have a generic multi chassis GP2 , GP3, F4 and new redesigned Karts.
You can add me to the list of people hoping for this sort of new car content. For a while now I've felt that there is a pretty big gap between the f3 cars and F-Ultimate. Objectively, the historic F1 series fill that performance gap to some degree but for me it's just not the same as if I would be driving a top level junior formula car with more "modern" suspension and aero.

...I'm still tinking about the rf2 bundle : will I buy it ? why ? I already got everything from Reiza, so, maybe it's useless...

A Reiza studios rFactor bundle. Sorry, don't understand. Isn't that like a Project Cars 2/ACC bundle? Please help me understand this.

Because, rf2 physics, tyres, terrain are all superior :barefoot:
of course that's only my opinion

So disagree all you like
why would I give butt cheeks what anyone else thinks about it

......... and You asked the questions............:cautious:

edit
P.S.I own all sims and all DLC bar iRacing and like all

It will be amazing to compare the same cars in AMS vs rF2. One of the only controlled experiment ways to see what exactly has improved in rF2 versus a heavily modified rF that is AMS.

AMS has the most natural-feeling FFB, proper drivetrain modelling, great sounds and overall very good cars. I hate to say this, but the latest AI improvements in AMS also make it superior to rF2's already good AI. AMS cars also don't burn their tires out when skidding across grass.

rF2 might be able to replicate the natural-feeling FFB...jury still out. The proper drivetrain modelling is lost. The sounds will either be a direct transfer or even better than the ones used in AMS, so no issue there. rF2 also adds higher fidelity graphics with better lighting and shaders. It also has rain and wipers. The latest tracks in rF2 are also a higher surface fidelity than those in AMS, though like the FFB, the jury is out as to whether it ultimately adds anything to the experience. The higher fidelity, combined with water/rain modelling certainly does.

Lots of people will soon have the chance to compare both cars and tracks directly.

Funny thing is I just booted it up yesterday. I haven't run AMS in probably close to a year due to no VR support. I ran one of my favorite tracks, Potrero de los Funes, and I actually forgot how good AMS feels! You get used to all the other sims and their lack of FFB and physics that AMS opens your eyes to what a good sim really feels like. I'm not saying that other sims don't have good FFB, I'm just saying that AMS feels different and more accurate. And it feels that way right out of the gate with the default settings.

I've been a supporter since the GSC days, and even though I'm disappointed at times, I'll still continue to support Reiza. Hopefully great things are coming in the future.
